    Question Sleek Bags for AlphaSmart/Dana?

I'm a long time user & lover of AlphaSmart technology.

I have an AlphaSmart 3000. It's a portable USB keyboard with 32k of independent memory, a fine tool for writers to focus on writing, not formatting. (It's a fabulous sturdy device, since its 40 char LCD 4-line screen has a glass cover.)

I also have a DANA, which is the love child of an AlphaSmart and a Palm OS device. Its touch screen is a little more vulnerable.

Neither of these devices have a folding cover; they're wedge-shaped. Like a calculator, their screens are slanted up slightly for better viewing angle. The Dana is the larger of the two: It's never 2inches thick, but the highest point is 2 inches above the table it rests on. It's 12 inches wide and 9.5 inches deep.

Is this a candidate for a size 5 Mitre? Can I tighten up the internal suspension system to take up the slack in the "deep" dimension?

    Hi Jesse,

I would actually recommend the Size 4 Brain Cell or the Size 4 Mitre as the Size 5 of both products only holds laptops or devices up to 12" wide.

The Mitre does not have a suspension system - it's a simple sleeve with soft foam padding. The Brain Cell is the hard shell case with the suspension system that, while it can be loosened, cannot be tightened.

The protection will not be reduced much by the little bit of extra room.

Thanks for letting us know about both of these - we'll add them to our laptop fit list!
