I'm born and raised in NYC, and very open to people asking questions. I'd like to think I'm pretty friendly too.

New Yorkers often get a bad rap for unfriendliness or abrasiveness. It's partially true, because of the population density and the extra-thick layer of personal boundaries that we have. (You will know what I mean when you get packed into a rush-hour subway car like a sardine.) And everybody's always in a rush to get somewhere, so there's not the space and time for chit-chat. But ... we're all people with human hearts and compassion, just like everybody else. Don't worry; we don't bite. And we hope that the people who visit come away with good feelings about New York City!
