DLBP: what is your setup ? Pouches etc?

Hi guys. To any of you folks who have the daylight backpack, what accessories do you use in the backpack, either for EDC, or for when traveling and using it as a secondary bag, or once you arrive? I a30, looking to add the backpack to the mix, and wondering what pouches would be good to have with it. I have the side affect. I have the double organizer wallet. I also have a large double organizer pouch (ones that can fit full 8.5x11”). Would that large organizer pouch fit in the DLBP? I am wondering about what else I can order without going overboard since each of these accessories are $10-20. What’s the smallest pocket /pouch that zips and can take credit cards ?

    Many thanks.

The mini size pouch is perfect for credit card sized cards.

I use the small clear double organizer pouch as a wallet because it will hold dollar bills flat. Plus, the whole pouch is flat and takes up minimal room in any bag. I use a keystrap to make sure I don't leave it behind when I get it out to pay for something. If I'm not using money, but just cards, then the mini is perfect.

Thanks. Perfect. The mini looks small enough to fit inside a SE also. Is ballistic ok to get ? Or is it bulky I am

    Hi, 1bgNWB!

I use my DLPB as my gym bag, it will hold my sneakers (in a generic brand shoe packing cubes), gym clothes (in an Aeronaut 45 end pocket cube), and a small organizer pouch for things like deodorant, hair ties, etc. I have also used my DPBP as a weekend bag, it fit a small Eagle Creek packing folder, a medium Eagle Creek compression cube, an Osprey ultralight zip organizer for toiletries, and a small Tom Bihn travel tray for odds and ends.

As far as which Tom Bihn accessories will fit, a large double organizer pouch will fit with room to spare, as will a cache & 13" laptop. The A30 travel laundry stuff sack fits, but might make the bag a bit bulgy. How well that works for you will depend on what else you need to carry.

The organizer pocket will hold cards, IDs, etc, but I'd worry that they would fall out. I just move my clear organizer wallet into the DLBP and clip it on one of the o-rings in the front pocket. I do use a pocket pouch as a mini first aid kit, it holds a single use antibiotic cream packet, small vial of Advil, Band-Aids, and Sudafed.

The side effect does fit well in the main section of the DLBP, but I generally find it too large to put in the front pocket. It will fit, but I find it bulky. My SE is in ballistic.

I'm not the right person to consult if your goal is NOT going crazy with accessories. When I use this (or any) backpack as my main bag and plan to use it as a daybag when I arrive, it's important to me that everything have a place to live when it's taken out of the bag. That means I've acquired a fair number of pouches, packing cubes, travel trays, etc.

Here are some pictures to show you what I've fit in my DLBP.

    1) large double organizer pouch and cache
    2) A30 travel laundry stuff sack (filled with large skein of yarn, A45 laundry packing cube and end pocket cube for this photo)
    3) front pocket of DLBP with small halcyon org pouch and small double organizer pouch (each clipped it an o-ring)
4)Large travel tray, large double org pouch, cache.
    5) large travel tray with assortment of pens, markers, tins of balm, etc. (Sitting on top of large double org pouch for scale)
    5) stuffed travel laundry stuff sack on top of DLBP for scale.

Let me know if you have questions or want other photos.

Omg you are AWESOME. thank you for such a detailed write up. The shipping fees are a bit of a sting since they add so much cost. Ie I just bought a new bag not too long ago and want to add some More accessories but each shipment adds up lol

I think my clear DOP is cordura, and my mini is aether. I think the pouches are made out of leftover material, so you can always contact Tom Bihn support and find out what's available.

Thanks. How do you find the halcyon? I have an old dyneema Sbpc and it hasn’t kept well considering I only use it when I travel. So I’m thinking that ballistic is the only way to go for me for the DLBP. but would it back in A30 without taking much room is another question.

I can't quite get the name of the old Dyneema item, what color is it?
