Spring 2020 edition EDC carry- Tom Bihn has organized my life

I've always been one of those good Girl Scout types: I carry emergency and other daily needs around with me. Not always for me, sometimes for other folks. I used to have all kinds of stuff just jumbled up, so when I went to look for something I often couldn't find it or it was too much hassle to get to.

Tom Bihn products have changed all that. Cubelets and Ghost Whales are miracle products for me. I have my stuff all kitted out, which also makes it easier to move from bag to bag. Although with current conditions, its mostly all staying in my Pick up Truck, as I'm only venturing out for essentials, short (1-2 hour) road trips and visiting my elderly mom.

This bag has me ready for practically /anything/. I really like the Pick up Truck, as it allows me to more naturally group items for easier retrieval.

    Here's the current carry:

    Main/Center compartment:- Environment

    - foldable foam cushion- for wet picnic benches, sitting on the ground, this packs up to 7.5 x 5.5 x .5 inches. It goes flat in the bottom, also helps to reinforce stability.

    - mylar emergency blanket

    - disposable rain poncho

    - itty bitty packable towel (PakTowel nano I think, that I cut down to half size) in its own bag on o ring

    - earbuds in super mini ghost whale hanging from other o ring

    - New Normal cubelet (has reusable masks, reusable gloves, hand sanitizer in bottle, and sanitizing wipes)

    - Sun protective bandana from Coolibar in non TB mesh bag also sharing space on an o ring (omitted in colder months)

    - my everyday cubelet , as well as a hat

    - mesh small ghost whale contains my MacGuyver kit- wire, cording, binder clips, duct tape, matches etc. I can cobble together something for most situations

Side Pocket 1- Food and drink

    - Ikea water bottle

    - non TB mesh bag with shelf stable snacks (packages of nuts, trail mix from Trader Joe's and the like, also a couple of hard candies should I be around a small child who could use a distraction)

    - Small Ghost Whale personal eating kit- has utensils, swiss army knife, small napkin, salt + pepper, brushpicks, hand wipe, individual package of dental floss- this hangs on o ring

Side Pocket 2 - comfort items

    - Flannel napkins in blue avocado pouch

    - mini ghost whale with various types of cleaning wipes (for glasses, body, hands, phone/tablet screens), tiny bottle of water to activate dry compressed towels and half of a contact lens container to hold the dry wipe while water is added. On o ring

    - mini q kit holding power bank and cables for mini usb as well as apple

    - comfort item cubelet- has minimal first aid, hygiene items, lotion bar, earplugs, nail clipper and hair clips. If I had to bring just one item with me at all times, it would be this cubelet. There is some redundancy with other kits I carry and I'm ok with that overlap.

    - one tube of wysi dry wipes (these are just plain towels) and one tube of essential wipes plus (which contains soap)

    Front pocket 1- tools

    - flashlight, whistle, Nite Ize doo hickey and knife on a key strap- hanging on the o ring, Pocket tissues (not a tool but there for accessibilityy)

Front pocket 2 - first aid

    - mini ghost whale with basic first aid supplies, on a key strap hanging from the o ring

For most folks, this is probably over kill, but every thing fits into the Pickup Truck which goes with me in the car.

Looks great! Those Ghost Whales sure are getting a ton of praise. I’ve put in an order over the last week which I keep adding items into before it ships— most of which are GWOPs in various sizes, colours, and materials, so I am excited to have TB organize my life too Smilie

Great organization. (Love the new normal cubelet) What does the foldable foam cushion look like?

This folds up into quarters. This really makes a a difference between me and cold or wet ground even though unfolded, its quite thin. Its also great on metal folding chairs to keep the heat transfer from me to a chair to a minimum.
