In April of 2016, I tried out some of the Aether packing cubes for the Aeronaut 30 (https://www.tombihn.com/collections/packing-cubes/products/aether-packing-cube-aeronaut-30?variant=18040959751) (because they are what I happened to own) in my Smart Alec, and they seem like a good fit for my needs. My photos are here (https://forums.tombihn.com/general-bag-discussion/7250-perfect-packing-cube-s19-3.html#post122610).

I usually take this when we do road trips, with a pair of hiking boots down in the bottom, then layering A30 size end pocket cubes above that. On my last trip, where I had my new upper and lower modular pockets, I very happily found that the regular Spiff Kit fits perfectly in the lower modular pocket, with room for a small stuff sack laid in on the bottom if needed. my iPad slides down into the elastic pocket inside if it's not in whatever EDC I'm using at the moment. Pretty basic, but very workable.

My small Yeoman packing cubes arrived yesterday, and I was delighted to find that they're a perfect fit in the Smart Alec! You could fit three stuffed or four underpacked cubes easily. I elected to stack mine vertically, but they work horizontally as well.

I was able to fit two stuffed cubes, an A30 TLSS, a pair of flats in a size 4 TSS, and a travel tray with my usual miscellany in there. Fully loaded 3DCOC fits in the side pocket easily.18409

I have seen people debating if Ultraviolet was pinkish or purple. However, I have never seen it as pink - until those photos.

Oh, I really did not need to see this. My Smart Alec is my go-to backpack for overnight/weekend trips, but it always ends a mess because my current packing cubes are kind of "meh" in it. I guess I'll be adding small Yeoman packing cubes to my list for inspection on my visit to the TB store at the end of this month.

Darn it. Me too.

I just used my new SA for the first time, ~10 day trip from CA to MA.
At the bottom I put a pair of sneakers in an Eagle Creek shoe bag... then a folded pair of jeans on top.
Next layers were my two aether A30 end packing cubes - laid flat, they seem to fit across the SA well.
On top of those two cubes were my two NFTD mesh cubes packed on end (like books) plus a CQPC on end
Laptop in a cache at my back
Various cords, chargers, & sunglass in the upper module
Fleece vest on the outside, in the bungee straps
Some small random misc. items tucked here & there.

Everything fit well and there was definitely pockets of space left since I was packing what amounted to rectangles in a more cylindrical space.

I also carried my fine new Mars Red Pop Tote for the random stuff to go under the seat in front of me.

It is! I love them - they're part of my daily "uniform," and I have several in different colors.

Love it! I just wore mine the other night, hence the recognition. :D

I was planning to get all wasabi accessories to go with my S25 with a wasabi interior. Looking at this made me want to rethink that. The different colors all really look great together. Iím going to switch it up instead. Thanks for the great pictures!
