I was wondering what the Grey and Steel colors look like side by side. Does anyone have a picture of that?

Much thanks in advance!

Hi Kigyoku,

Here's one of black, steel, and grey all together for comparison. The Steel is a beautiful deep dark grey that has kind of a greenish tone in photos (it doesn't look green in person) while the Grey is a nice light neutral shade of grey. Note that this compares the exterior ballistic Steel, which is different from the interior Halcyon steel which can sometimes be used for Stuff Sacks, travel trays, etc and has mostly been replaced with Northwest Sky Halcyon.

Personally I generally prefer Grey and NWS over either Steel, but that hasn't stopped me from hanging onto my Steel Side Effect or my Aubergine/Steel Maker's Bag.

You can click the photo for a larger version on Flickr if needed.

Thanks so much @Meglet! That was fast! This is my first post. Thanks so much for the instant gratification.

I have a steel/wasabi co-pilot and was thinking of a grey DLBP. I was hoping it was a lighter shade of grey. And it is!!

Have you by any chance seen the DLBP in grey? Right now I'm torn between grey and olive. My concern with the olive is that it may look too army-green-ish.

Any thoughts?

You're welcome!

I have seen the grey DLBP in person, and it looks very simple and nondescript, in a good way. Personally I'm not a big fan of the olive, it's a nice color but not for me so I'd let others answer how army-green-ish it is.

@meglet The more I look at your picture, the more I love that grey! Decisions, decisions.....

The grey is awesome! I have it in a Synapse 25 and a MCB. It is like the grey of a nice man's suit to me--almost sort of fancy! It goes great with all the halcyon colors too.

I love the way these forums open my eyes to new ideas and other people's perspectives.

As a committed bright colour person (zest, orange 152, azalea) and for quieter moments red blend and aubergine, I've always zoomed right past the boring greys... Now I am suddenly seeing them in a new way. Thank you for describing them so well to make even me start to see their beauty.
