Hi all,

I have had my S25 for about 8 months..I absolutely love it!! It has been my EDC bag ever since I received it. I have a SC and a SE, as well as a few pouches for organization that work well for my EDC. I would like to use my S25 for travel as well. I have looked at some of the packing strategies that forum members have posted, and I see people using a variety of packing cubes for clothing, but I cant tell which sizes they are. Can anyone tell me which packing cubes they think work best for clothing in the S25. I will be packing mainly travel clothing, such as trousers, leggings, tops and skirts, and I typically roll my clothes. Business attire is not required. Any input is appreciated! Thanks in advance!!

The large cube from my 3-piece TravelWise set fits perfectly in my S25. I tested it stuffed with towels to the point the zippers would barely close and the S25 ate it up.

i've used both the full size eagle creek regular cubes and eagle creek full size specter cubes with good luck before. i've been able to pack both vertically and horizontally in the S25 with equally good results, depending on what else i was carrying.

depending on what your daypack needs will be at destination, i've also used the DLBP as a marsupial-style packing cube. i'll pack all my clothes into a halcyon DLBP, then slip that inside the S25 main compartment, in front of my laptop + cache. i most often use this approach for work trips, when i will need to have a laptop, notebook, and safety gear on hand (or back, to be more precise) at all times, but not necessarily all of my clothes + toiletries, which can generally stay behind in a hotel room or rental car trunk. they nest together remarkably well, and then you also have the option of a smaller, sleeker daypack in the DLBP if that strikes your fancy.

My favorite cube to use in the S25 is the Tri-Star medium. Sometimes I also use Aeronaut 30 small cubes.

@Heartgypsy,

Following up on @Badger's reply, you can see pictures of some packing cubes in her thread, Synapse 25 kitted for summer travel (https://forums.tombihn.com/packing-lists-and-travel-tips/11092-synapse-25-kitted-summer-travel.html).

As an interesting side comment, that thread shows the Aeronaut 30 small cubes in use. I actually commented in that thread (https://forums.tombihn.com/packing-lists-and-travel-tips/11092-synapse-25-kitted-summer-travel-post124967.html#post124967) that the Medium size Tri-Star Packing cube is another good packing cube to use (it makes more use of the vertical height of the main compartment than the Aeronaut 30 packing cubes).

@Heartgypsy,

To follow up on @capncat's mention of the using the Daylight Backpack inside the Synapse 25, I'll point you to my picture posted (https://forums.tombihn.com/questions-about-bags/8538-daylight-size-question-post81544.html#post81544) of a French Blue DLBP inside a Original Steel 400d Halcyon/ Wasabi Synapse 25:

https://forums.tombihn.com/attachments/questions-about-bags/8749d1413682448-daylight-size-question-img_1006-jpg

(This was actually one of a series of pictures I took to show the then-new Travel Laundry Stuff Sack for the Aeronaut 30 against various different bags for the Laundry Stuff Sacks are Here (https://forums.tombihn.com/photos-videos-and-reviews/8063-laundry-stuff-sacks-here.html) thread, but never posted there, so I showed it later in a thread discussing the Daylight Backpack. It's mainly meant to show that the contour of the DLBP follows that of the Synapse 25.)

In a much earlier post (pre-dating the Daylight Backpack release), in a thread titled Tetris packing the Synapse 25 (https://forums.tombihn.com/packing-lists-and-travel-tips/7193-tetris-packing-synapse-25-a.html), @monkeylady opted for using the Packing Cube Backpack for Tri-Star/Western Flyer inside the Synapse 25. (It's deeper than the PCBP, so it fills up more of the depth of the S25, but the top corners are square, rather than following the tapered curves.)

You can also read some of the posts in the Packing Cubes for Synapse 25? (https://forums.tombihn.com/questions-about-bags/7276-packing-cubes-synapse-25-a.html) thread from about that time (March 2014), and read the discussion about Eagle Creek Specter Cubes in those posts, too.

I do prefear more small cubes than one big cube. This way I feel I can "organize" my clothes and also, down the travel, can have one dedicated "laundry-cube" I find, that the small A30 cubes (as also mentioned by Badger above) fit perfectly. I stack three of them horizonticaly on top of each other and use all the outer pockets of the Synapse 25 for my "edc".

I love the knew https://www.tombihn.com/collections/accessories/products/aether-packing-cube-aeronaut-30?variant=18040959623 for that, as I can have three differenc colours.
