View Full Version : Brain Cell and Thinkpad X200

I recently got a new laptop, a Thinkpad X200s, and unsurprisingly my
current size 3S Brain Cell is a very poor fit. So I'm now looking to
get a new one.

According to the Laptop Bag Fit Guide the size 5 Horizontal Brain Cell
is the one I want but I'm wondering if anyone have first hand experience
with the combination?

The interior dimensions of the size 5 is (in metrics, sorry, I can't quite think in inches) 286 x 236 x 35 mm and
the dimensions of the Thinkpad X200s is 295 x 210 x 29 mm, slightly wider
than the Brain Cells interior width.

From experience with the size 3S vertical Brain Cell I have now I know there
is a little flex in the sides of the vertical Brain Cell, but I have no
experience with the horizontal. Should I be concerned about the tight fit?

i remember when i got the 15" macbook pro, which was about 9mm wider than the 15" powerbook. i had the size 4 brain cell that i had been using with the powerbook, and i was waiting for the size 4X brain cell that was designed for use with the macbook pro. i was able to put the macbook pro into the size 4 brain cell, but it was a tight squeeze.

i believe the horizontal and vertical are constructed the same way with regard to the give in the horizontal dimension of the bag.

Thanks, I may have to take a chance and hope the fit is ok.

hi rickb,

double check with darcy for her recommendation with regard to the fit.

tom bihn has a very friendly return policy. you can order a product, try it out in your home. don't remove the tags. if it doesn't work out, you can send it back for a refund within 60 days.

Thanks, I may have to take a chance and hope the fit is ok.

I think the Size 5 will provide a good fit for your laptop. If it does - or doesn't - let us know!
