    Are Halcyon Organizer Pouches retired?

When I navigate to the Halcyon Organizer Pouch link I see no information on the side about production, stock, or notifications. Have these been retired? I didn't want to bother Darcy/staff if the community had some details.

On a somewhat related note, does anyone use a Halcyon pouch for carrying A4/Letter sized papers in a backpack? It seems like a good option for a manila folder with a handful of documents. Though I wonder if the Large Double Organizer Pouch might have more rigidity due to the urethane.

I have a Large Organizer Pouch in Ultraviolet that I use for a work folder and notebook. It slides easily into my S25.

I haven't heard that the OPs are disco'd. TB has really had to shift things around due to the initial shut down due to the pandemic, the shift to masks, and now ramping back up but with all the Covid protocols, so I would expect things will be constrained for some time.
My understanding is that the OPs are mostly (all?) made with scraps from making the other bags, so I assume it depends on the halcyon scraps accumulated and then time to make them, so it may not be a priority right now. Darcy had mentioned that the Ghost Whales were getting produced soon but that won't help if you want a Large flat OP.

To further expand on previous posts, since Organizer Pouches are made from scraps of material in the production process, as G42 pointed out, my guess is that they will be restocking many of these as they complete many of the bags that were in the recent preorder. One of the unusual features of this last production run was the offering, for the first time since the current version of the Side Effect was introduced in 2013, nearly 8 years ago, of these accessories made in 200d Halcyon. (I was one of the people asking for this; it’s been a long time to get this to happen). They’re also making Cubelets and more Everyday Cubelets in 200d Halcyon, and the Design Lab Packing Cube Shoulder Bag (PCSB), while also being made in some Ballistic Nylon fabrics, offers many people the option of getting 200d Halcyon PCSBs with the shoulder strap attachment points placed at the sides of the Bag, instead of offset. (This followed the similar change in the Shoulder Strap Attachment Points for the Side Kick and Daylight Briefcase in mid-2018, announced in the blog)

In short, there are a lot of bags and accessories being made in 200d Halcyon in the current preorder that just closed, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the plan were to restock Organizer Pouches in Halcyon following this current manufacturing batch. Again, this is an appropriate question for Customer Support, or Darcy might weigh in.

If you’re carrying papers in Manila folders, additional reinforcement with a urethane window of a Double Organizer Pouch is not necessary. Similarly, if you’re carry a ream (500 sheets) of paper (yes, it’s possible to fit into a large Organizer pouch), that much paper will provide enough structure by itself. So a Halcyon Large Organizer Pouch will work.

Historically, they have not made a lot of Double Organizer Pouches in 200d Halcyon. We usually find out about this when some forum member posts a picture. The first one spotted was a small Wasabi DOP (04-29-2015). You can read the 2016 thread, Are the double organizer pouches ever made in halcyon?

Other fabrics that I’ve liked for the large Organizer Pouch are 500d Cordura (an earlier material used for Bag linings before Halcyon) and Parapack (they only made the large Organizer pouches in Parapack once, at the beginning of 2015 in Black and Steel). See What material is best for the Large Organizer Pouch?

Sure, I follow that the pouches are made from scraps and there may not be many scraps right now. But do you all see the same content on the page that I do? I'd expect it to have a "We don't know when we'll make this again" message. It currently looks like a bug or something on the page.

That’s what a product page looks like when items are sold out, and there’s not an automatic refresh, but it hasn’t been retired

We use this abbreviation all the time at work... but weirdly enough, there are NEVER mirror balls dropping down from the ceiling with light shows and funky music when we say it -humph!

Thanks for this post. I deliberately came to the forums looking forward info on these.

Did the above-mentioned Summer restock actually happen? If so, I may have missed it.

eBay (Germany, of all places) to the rescue. A few HOP in size Mini showed up a week ago. I saw a grey one going for 12 Euro but got these two (together) for less than that.

No halcyon OPs have been restocked.

Darcy mentioned somewhere that they've gotten very efficient and there is less scrap for OPs.... I'll try to find her comment

I remember this comment, too, but it’s getting really hard to track down sources, since a lot of miscellaneous questions and answers have been popping up in blog postings. The last related post that I can recall specifically on the topic of all fabric options in pouches and double organizer pouches was in the Discussion of New Colors, New Designs sticky thread on 11-11-2021 when Darcy replied to a question by @epeterson

Love the all-fabric option!! Is there any chance we'll see all-fabric organizer pouches (or double organizer pouches) in the near future?
                              with the response

I'll add requests for both to our project app! That said, I think it's unlikely: we're offering quite a few options these days and I think we'd need to narrow them down a bit before offering more, if that makes sense. Maybe as a special production run at some point?
G42 and others, you can sometimes use the Advanced search function to specify the poster and, if you specify a restricted date range for keywords, pull up relevant posts by that poster using those terms over that period.
