Share favorite accessories for synik 22

    Hi,
I just recently got a synik 22 which already has a few organization compartments. I was wondering, for those of you using synik 22 daily, if you have any favorite accessories (not necessary from TB) that you find super useful for daily packing or any purpose. Probably 22L is bit small to squeeze more packing cubes into it. But I’d love to hear other users’ experience.

    Thank you!!

1.) Cordura Organizer Pouch. Size Mini. Connected to the bag with a snaphook/o-ring key strap. Works well as a wallet.

2.) All-Fabric 3D Organizer Cube. Perfect catch-all for cords and chargers and flash drives. Fits nicely in the front left, front right, or bottom "chin" pockets.

3.) 16" Snaphook/Snaphook Key Strap. Longer than the included, stock 8" strap and keeps your keys tethered to your bag so you don't misplace them.

4.) Packing Cube Shoulder Bag. A full outfit (or overnight change of clothes) will easily fit into one cube.

5.) Synapse 19/Synik 22 Freudian Slip. When you're not traveling you are going to want to have a way to keep a large number of smaller items organized (rather than a small number of larger items). Takes up very little space in the main compartment, leaving plenty of room left for papers, books, a spare layer or jacket, etc.

Welcome to the Forums yyan203 !

I use Small Ghost Whales for pens/pencils, etc. usually clipped into one of the side pockets and a Small Snake Charmer or 3DOC in the chin pocket with cords & chargers.
The Pocket Pouch can hold some business cards and tucks into the side pocket as well.

I find the ghost whale might be a convenient thing to store little things like coin/pen drive. The halcyon material inside the two side pockets of synik 22 is too slippery to hold them in position when the bag is upside down

Do we want to know why you're upside down!? Hehehe

I usually carry enough pens, etc that the GW is easier than the built-in slots and I can move it from bag to bag if needed.

For coins and smaller easy to lose things, I usually use a super mini.

Thanks!! There is moment that the bag can fall off from a chair and flip over especially when the internal frame is not used. The egg shape also tends to make things slide out from the built-in slot when the bag is lying down. So I need to make sure loose things stay where they are

The organizer pouch seems similar to the ghost whale in functionality

Similar size, but the original OP only unzips on one (top) side, uses a larger zipper that's easier to open, and is a little more structured than the GWOP.

The GWOPs aren't my own personal favorite: smaller zippers that have to turn around a right corner and don't work as well as a wallet because you can't reach or see much with the top unzipped and unzipping two of the sides makes it too easy for things to fall out.

If you do want a wallet size GWOP, the Mini is your best bet.

Ah… you have made a very good point for the difference. I totally agree that GWOP doesn’t work well as a wallet. Super helpful 👍👍👍
                  Thanks so much!

FWIW, I also use a Nik's Minimalist Wallet and like it just fine (I'm currently using one inside of my Side Kick this weekend - I was seeing a theater show last night and didn't want to worry about a bag being checked).

If you need a wallet that can clip onto a snaphook [key strap], they make a version of the NMW with a sewn-in loop, too.
