    Inner dimensions of the Aeronaut.

    Hi,

I have an aeronaut on the way with UPS, and was wondering about the exact dimensions of the main compartment.

The reason I'm asking is to see which, if any, of the Eagle Creak "Pack-It" folding pieces fit. http://www.eaglecreek.com/accessories/packing_folders/
They look nice for shirts. They come in 15"x10", 18"x12" and 20"x14"...

The middle one can fit a suit, which would be perfect for my One Bag travel needs.

Visited Oslo with my Aeronaut this summer. We both loved the Norway trip.

The Lg TB packing cube at 13.5 x 13.5" fits into the center part of the Aeronaut perfectly. So that dimension will tell you that your 18" "Pack-It" idea probably won't work.

Now fitting a 15 x 10 "Pack-It" will depend on how much you pack into the end pockets. I have an old "Pack-It" 16 x 11 and yes it fits IF you unsnap the collapsible end pocket wall on one side. Why don't you just hold on the "Pack-It" order until delivery of your Aeronaut.

(PS I have used both ECrk and TB packing cubes and prefer TB. TB's are shaped to fit the Aeronaut, can take the packing pressure to hold a lot! and weigh less than ECrk's - great feature for SAS.)
Another happy owner of the Aeronaut, Sm & Lg packing cube, convertible packing cube, Absolute packing strap. Also travel with Ballistic Imago w/2 sm organizer pouches and style kit. Swift with extra key straps, organizer pouches and my quarter packing cube. Holiday Med. Ultrasuede® pouch, all 3 sizes of Stuff Bags, various key straps. I love them all!

      Thank you for the information.

When did you travel here? We have had the worst summer this year, wettest june and july on record in "Østlandet" (the south east of our mountain ranges).

I did order some cubes aswell, 1 large, 2 small and and end one, and one of the quarter ones. Nice to have options.

I will wait and see. Maybe it will work great with the large cube?

Sounds like you are assembling a great travel bag with lots of flexibility with the addition of the packing cubes to fit your Aeronaut.

I'll take the impressions of Norway to your private messages.

I've used the Eagle Creek 15" folder for shirts and it fit fine. If I was going to pack a suit I would leave all but my smallest packing cubes at home and use the bundle wrapping method. This is the way my wife packs her Aeronaut and uses only her smallest Ebag packing cube for the core.

Packing is such an individual thing. Suit could still be bundle wrapped around lg TB packing cube, esp if a slippery bag surrounded the suit before you added anything else on top.

I like the 'roll each item' packing method so that I can see what my choices are. Is that a girl thing - "lets see what am I in the mood for today?"

And yes, my wardrobe contains mostly fabrics that don't hold wrinkles and dry quickly. So a rolled up item shakes out and is ready to wear.
