Waist Strap on the ID

I just got hold of my ID and braincall combo and am very impressed with it. I have one little small tiny gripe though...

In the gageteer review, the strap shown is easily removable but on my bag the buckles are sewn into the loops and the 'claw' fitting is gone. Any reason for this?

We found that the "claw" as you call it (we call it a broken loop) did not fair well with loads over about 15 pounds, so we replaced it with a sewn-in "slide". We still use the broken loop on small and medium Cafe bags.
To remove the waist strap, just back it out through the slide.
Does that make sense?
