Love, love, love the video: one of the nicest and most cosy, TB has produced.
Tom and the Crew are wonderful, as usual.
I think the Heros' Journey is an Aerosynapseguidepack with removable pockets including one which is a convertible to a carry on.
The contrast between this newest bag and earlier designs shows the evolution, growth, journey of Tom on design, in response to the changing need of users' need in EDC, specialty designs (accessories, shop/market bags, Swift) and luggage.
Love the peeking into the factory and showroom. I thought I was in the Holodeck and almost grabbed a Q-Kit.
The new Key Straps are as beautiful as they bright and useful.
Lately, I found myself in need of a couple of different bright Key Straps, to secure and retrieve, without worry, different but equally important items, in my EDC.
A maze of Black Key Straps and various lanyard is no longer cutting it.

Someone do me a favor... Take a look at 1:58 in the video with Maestro Tom talking about designing a bag. Pause it. Look at the work bench that's in front of Tom, frame left. At the farthest end is a black and Nordic bag. I assume it's either the main Hero's Journey or the top pocket. One spot closer is what looks like a very large northwest gray Halycon stuff sack. I thought it might be the sleeping bag stuff sack, but I double-checked, and that's going to be made in Aether rather than Halcyon.
So... what am I looking at?

You're correct that the Hero's Journey Top Pocket for the Nordic/Black combination version of the HsJ is next to the White Lamp at the left. And that it looks like a Northwest Sky Halcyon prototype for the Sleeping Bag Stuff Sack next to it, although they used Aether for the release version.
I don't know any more about these details.

I'm definitely looking forward to seeing all the pockets, compartments, and features of this bag. If I were going to be backpacking around Europe, I think this would be the perfect choice. I'm too old for that now, though. I don't think it will work for my own purposes any better than my current bags, including a nice lightweight Loka UL backpack from fstop gear for when I'll be hiking on a trip--which will mean I have my camera and tripod too. If I didn't already have that bag, the HsJ would look GREAT!Last edited by autolycus; 09-21-2016, 07:20 PM.

I keep staring at those things. One of the days my finger will accidentally push "buy" on one, but I need to finish homeschooling the kiddos first before I take on another hobby. Knitting, spinning, and reading are about all I can manage at the moment!
