Looking forward to seeing everyone's pics! I'm too much of a couch potato to use this bag, but it looks like an exquisite piece of luggage. I've really enjoyed the slew of demo/preview photos that were posted here this past week.Last edited by adalangdon; 09-27-2016, 11:01 AM.

I just added the Hero's Journey to my wish list. I didn't think it was something I would have been interested in initially, but after watching the videos...ohhhhh! Sleeping bag compartment, the add-on side pockets and the convertible top-pack/back-pack, I was sold! Thank you Tom Bihn crew!Western Flyer (Org Halcyon/Wasabi), Synapse 25 (Org Halcyon/Wasabi), Large Cafe Bag (Org Halcyon/Wasabi), Parental Bag (used as a carryon), and Shop Bags (Org Halcyon, Iberian, Wasabi)

I know that I might not be the "classic" Hero's Journey user, but I found a spot for it in my life where it absolutely sings... as my portable spinning wheel bag!
My wheel is a Majacraft Little Gem. I have a padded shoulder bag for it that works in a pinch, but I really struggle with with that type of carry these days. I much prefer carrying heavier items in a backpack. When I initially loaded it up, the wheel poked up a bit into the upper bag area. That was before I watched the video on how to modify and carry it (so helpful!). I unsnapped the snaps to expand the main compartment, and it all fits just beautifully.
Since the bag isn't padded, I took some of my fiber to do that job for me. After all, I'm planning on spinning it into yarn, so it will serve equally well as padding in either format!
The top compartment is holding my knitting needles in a Clear Quarter Packing Cube. It also carries my bobbins and my flyer.
And the bag isn't too much for me to handle! The load is well centered and I'm a happy gal.
I fear for my Aeronaut 45. I think it might have just been rendered obsolete!
ETA: Forgive the "side" shots. I promise I'm not lying down on the job! I'm just horrible at putting up photos to this site!

Tom is putting the finishing touches on a new small backpack design that he started working on immediately after he completed The Hero's Journey....Getting to the point with too many bags to list them all. Current daily carry is my Black Halcyon Zeitgeist with a Cobalt Cerylon 3DOC as my "purse"/

Thanks @Ilkyway and @gochicken. This is going to be a hard decision. I am completely sold on the main bag, but not sure if the top pocket will work as a backpack since it is only 10L.

Originally posted by gochicken View PostBwidjaja, Ilkyway has great photos. I agree... it will fit, but it depends on how full the CP is packed. The CP is a bit taller, just as wide, but less deep, so if it is not fully packed, the top can be squished down and it will fit nicely.

It is going to be a community bag for sure, but that's part of its charm. It works in so many different ways! There is flexibility built in to make it work in whichever way you need.
