If that top fit's my cache, has backpack straps and will fit my purse then this set up will be amazing for my around the world travels. I'm currently carrying a ULA Camino 2 and a Synapse 25. I pack light but I also camp so having a UL tent and sleeping bag & thermarest takes up half my camino and it's so floppy that it get's stretched past carry on & it's getting on my last nerve. I thought I'd have to cave to an Osprey Fairpoint, but I'm going to be traveling non-stop for several years as a vlogger/writer... those things will need replaced annually based on convo's with travelers. This bag definitely fills an empty spot in the market for folks that are doing a ton of urban travel AND trails AND crowded trains in who knows where. When this releases, I'm going to need to sell my less than 2 week old synapse 25 in the blackout and ultraviolet color... anyone want it?

My guesses based on obsessive blowing up of photos, prayer and dusting off some code reading skills.
top zips off and can be either backpack or shoulder carry. Somehow, the same zipper that zips it to the main bag is also the bags zipper? HTH did you do THAT!

With all the talk of hut to hut, Switzerland, kayaking, rivers and October trips, I'm guessing Nordic and the entire thing is all water proof or resistant. Maybe a coated bottom to protect a down sleeping bag from being set on snow or setting the bag on rocky Nepal trails? and some straps for walking poles or a snow arrest ax looking thinga ma bobber?

good waist belt. Hiking up some of those easter eggs takes some weight distribution going from the shoulders to waist.

Somewhat unrelated to the actual bag... where are those photos taken?

The main photo on the HsJ page was taken on Saksa mountain in The Sunnmøre Alps in Norway. The hut is Kiellandsbu.

@Darcy, I love this new two-stage approach to debuts!

I’m so glad, Kaz! This is a new way of having debuts for us too, so if you (or anyone else) has feedback we’re open to it. We’ve been putting a lot of thought into how much we will reveal about The Hero’s Journey before its official debut on September 27th. We don’t want to reveal too much (where’s the fun in that?) but we don’t want it to be totally maddening either. Two things that won’t be shared before the debut: its full description and the videos we made about the HsJ (a story of it being used + how-to videos) (although there is another full-length video we’ll share prior to the debut…)

Oh, how convenient! I was just dreaming of a fall camping trip with our three-year-old. (Also, thank you for so clearly marking the easter eggs in the HTML.)

Good catch! By next Tuesday, we’ll have hidden most (but not all….) of the easter eggs in the source code, just to make things a bit more hard to find. Bwahahaha!

I'm just hiking the Hadrian wall path (about 95 miles long) and can't sleep well because of pain (3rd day will be hell) and then I get this news.

Ow! But I did a Google image search and that looks like an amazing trail. Would be interested in hearing more about how it all goes.

I just finished a Lake Tahoe trip with about 17-18 miles of day hiking at 7000-9000 feet altitude, and it was glorious! After this experience I'd totally be open to hut-to-hut trips, which I'd never heard of until now after reading the TB blog today.

That does sound glorious! I want to go! Maybe I will. The HsJ has really been encouraging me to get out there and plan more trips. It’s a total joy to pack.

You can try to find the hints on your own or wait until Tuesday for the hints to be revealed. If you do uncover the hints on your own, your reward will be the choice of revealing them within this thread for everyone else to see OR evil-y hinting at the hints. Whether you're able to uncover the hints or not might depend on the advice you get or your horoscope for the day. What's Steinbeck have to do with it all anyway? Does this paragraph read funny? It might be because it's full of hint!

Since my husband got his knee replaced last year, we've been finally able to plan some hiking trips of the hut-to-hut type. I've since been searching high and low for a backpack that would suit our needs. I looked at the Guide's Pack for a while but hadn't decided yet. The Hero's Journey sound exactly the kind of stuff we've been thinking of... Cant wait!!
