I think we'll go ahead and add an "o-ring" to the other side in the next batch of Swifts. You make a good point!

swifty's o-rings
Am glad someone else brought up the topic of the o-ring placement. I didn't want to say anything else that would sound like criticism of this bag b/c i love it so, but...
The o-ring overlying the pocket is at the end where the zipper opens so anthing hooked to it is in the way when trying to get into the pocket. I have given up using it. I think if it were merely at the other end of the pocket (near the "bottom" of the zipper) it wouldn't be in the way.
Actually, I think it'd be great it if there was an o-ring overlying the other pocket, too. My row counter and small pocket knife (for the scissors) are attached to a key strap and hang on one o-ring. I would like to be able to hang keys or a small organizer pouch to another.
By the way, I really love this bag and it's o-rings. LOVE IT. Love my other 2 bags of yours, too. Thanks.

I think teresapoet has a good point.
But could you add o-rings on the back of the zipper pockets but not replace the one at the front of the pocket?
The o-rings at the back of the pocket could be used for odds and ends secured with key straps or a lanyard or organizer pouches containing cheap stuff such as lip balm, extra earbuds...
But... the one at the front needs to stay because it is right at the fingertips when one needs to secure a mini wallet, a bus pass holder, keys, cell phone case etc...
I would no be comfortable hanging those essentials on a o-ring in the back of the bag. (pickpockets)

Swift o-ring placement
I emailed the following feedback to the Tom Bihn folks, and Josh suggested that I post it here....
I was very lucky this Christmas and received both an Imago and a Swift. One of my favorite features of the bags are the o-rings, but the placement of one of the Swift ones makes it hard to use -- the two on the sides are great, but the one at the top next to the side panel pocket isn't. Since it's next to the zipper when the pocket is closed, anything clipped to that o-ring is in the way when you open the zipper. If it were on the other side, it would be in the way only when you open the pocket completely, which isn't as common a state (in my experience) as having the pocket completely closed.
