I broke the rules too--on my shop bags. I put them on the hand wash cycle in my front-loading washing machine, and turned off the spin cycle. Pulled them out, brushed off the excess water with a towel, and air dried. I am obviously not going to do it every week (maybe once a year?) and I am fully aware that the guarantee is now void. They were very dirty.

I've washed my Synapse successfully in the bathtub with Ecover delicate wash, and it turned out well. I am amazed at how quickly the bags dry-- the fabric doesn't really get wet with the water-resistant coatings.
