To build on the comments about the DLBC holding a larger laptop.... my previous work laptop was too big for the DLBC with a neoprene sleeve, so I simply used a doubled over piece of bubblewrap around the bottom 1/3 or so of the laptop
Not the most elegant solution to be sure, but it was simple & cheap... I am careful with my stuff and don't generally drop or toss things around... I just wanted that tiny bit of padding for when I put the bag down....worked fine for over a year of random use until I got a new/smaller work laptop

Could Daylight Briefcase be packed inside Synapse 25?

Unfortunaetly, I don‘t have a TB cache so I can‘t answer your question specifically. What I do have is a lenovo neopren sleeve which I almost never use since it wasn‘t originally made for my Thinkpad, so it is too large in length and width. However, if I use this sleeve the Thinkpad still fits inside the DLBC although I have to squeeze it a bit. Thus, I think with a proper fitting sleeve you should be able to fit it inside the DLBC. Overall, a 14‘ laptop is certainly not the ideal size for the DLBC, but you can manage.

Thanks for your follow-up question, BowTrek. I have the same question too.

Thanks @weirdguy!
It seems like it'd be a worthwhile thing to try after seeing the above.
For me it wouldn't become my "work bag" or an EDC, just a nice laptop bag, so I shouldn't need to overload it. Primary contents would just be laptop (either 12" personal or 14" work), power brick, notepad, travel mouse.
Appreciate it - the pictures help along with your explanation.
Same for you @G42 - that's more the type of bulge I was wondering at...
Honestly as much as I love my Co-Pilot I'm debating trading it for a Pilot and just using that... hard to do tho, Co-Pilot is a perfect size for me.Last edited by BowTrek; 12-01-2018, 08:48 PM.

Sorry @Bendan,
I don't have either any of the Synapse. I don't normally backpack, unless I travel for leisure.
Let me speak through the Specification of both bag.
S25 13.4" (w) x 20" (h) x 9.1" (d)
DLBC 14.2" (w) x 10.2" (h) x 3.9" (d)
Yes, I think DLBC would fit in the S25. Clearly, not horizontally but certainly in another way around - vertically.

All of you who use the Daylight Briefcase for laptops... what do you do with the power brick AKA charger? From the available images it doesn't look like there's a set place to zip up the charger without causing a massive bulge. Some of those things are pretty "fat" and can really stretch the fabric, which not just looks bad but makes it a hassle to get it in/out.
Anyone have images of a packed Daylight Briefcase with laptop + charger and info on where you put the charger?

I couldn't be more recommending Daylight Briefcase to anyone. It is affordable briefcase, light and just right for many works occasion. I grew to like the front which I find quite ingenious with its simplicity construction. Though in my case, I'd been advocating for an expandable depth or much deeper depth. My DLBC is usually overload and could really use some extra inch. I currently does not really use the Rear Pocket, yet the space is actually shared with main compartment. I find I'm able to maximize the available volume but squeezing in more stuff at the Main Compartment, rather than trying compartment-ised my stuffs into Main and Rear pockets. It definitely look budge but I'm okay with it. Rather than look more messy, with unable to zip Rear Pocket (Photo #2).
Some photos below, that I had shared previously in the Forum - in how, what I carried in my DLBC.
My power brick is really large one, compare to yours 13" or 14" Ultrabook. Because the power brick in the photo is for a large laptop, Dell Precision M4800.
This photo was taken quite few months back. Currently, I don't use the Side Effect but a Side Kick and TC on the side. Previous, my Side Effect could fit in my smaller Power Brick of my Dell E7240. See below photo. Also, I currently move all my Accessories like SK, TC into the main Compartment after manage to reduce the contents of my DLBC.
The Side Effect's photo show a blank space. The blank space is sufficiently enough for my Power Brick, which also okay in the Snake Charmer.
This Photo show how full normally my DLBC is. I may have not add Side Effect with SC, or SK with TC. Either set.Last edited by weirdguy; 12-01-2018, 06:05 PM.

Forgive the photo quality, had to use the flash...
Nordic DLBC with a fairly thick neoprene sleeve on top with my work laptop and an EC pouch holding the powerbrick and cord. It's for an HP elitebook.
Note that the sleeve is larger than the laptop...I squish the sleeve just a touch to fit inside the DLBC, but it still zips easily
Laptop w/sleeve and pouch w/cord&brick inside...
Top view of DLBC...The pouch makes it bulge a little, but there's nothing else in there right now... normally I'd put other things and the face would even out.
Even without other stuff, I don't feel that it's super noticeable, especially when you're carrying it... the halcyon fabric is flexible and moves.
HTH

I recently got a DLBC and it fits perfect into the S25 main compartment vertically or horizontally. I don't have the same computer but had it loaded with hanging file folders.
When placed horizontally at bottom of main compartment, a packed PCSB fits above it and the zipper is easy to close.
Depending on the load carried in front pockets, there can be some or upwards to a lot of room for a second item to fit in front or behind the DLBC packed horizontally.
My recent purchase with my 1.5 year old cordura S25 with front pockets empty, i was able to fit a DLBC horizontally with an almost fully packed A45 large packing cube in front of it, and a packed PCSB on top of those items. The bag was not bulging out, zippers closed well, and some room was left in the front compartments. YMMV as i feel the aging process of my S25 has allowed the material to reflex and increase capacity.

Could Daylight Briefcase be packed inside Synapse 25?
I want to choose the combination of Synapse 25 and Daylight Briefcase for business trips. The ideal setup is:
On the road:
- Synapse 25 as the only bag
- Daylight Briefcase packed inside Synapse 25
- A 13'' Thinkpad packed inside Synapse 25 with a cache
At the destination:
- Carry the 13'' Thinkpad with Daylight Briefcase
- Leave the Synapse 25 in the hotel
But I don't know whether Daylight Briefcase could fit inside Synapse 25. Does anybody have the experience using them together?
Thanks. (Hope my English is understandable)
