I really like the look of the Luminary, but it’s too small for my uses. I’d like to see a Luminary 25 (or so); preferably with a frame sheet and perhaps clamshell opening (the zipper would have to be modified). I made a mock-up comparing it to the Synapse 25.

That’s very interesting, I hadn’t noticed that similarity before. I’m lucky that I have a Smart Alec already, and although lovely looking, I find the opening a little too small and floppy. I don’t have a Luminary, but I imagine it feels similar to the Synik opening-wise, and that has a good amount of rigidity, and it is easier to look inside. That said, the SA I have is halcyon, so the other fabrics may be better. I’d still like to see a larger Luminary though. ��

What would be so life altering that I would buy all of them, even in colors that I do not like: a series of Cafe Bags with Coyote-colored straps and trim.

Bring back the Large Cafe Bag, please, in ballistic whatever colors! for those of us who need or prefer to carry notebooks, music scores etc vertically. The medium cafe bag is beautiful but just not quite tall enough.

I would absolutely adore a Luminary with a mesh spacer back panel.

I was lucky enough to get a new Luminary 12 for review (almost a year ago) and I've tried to use it as my daily carry bag since then, but the solid back proved to be far too sweaty for use in the warmer weather. I've used a Synapse 19 as a great backpack in summer weather in DC and Houston and Orlando - very hot and humid locations - and the mesh spacer back works wonders. I know the Luminary is intended for more casual use, but even walking slowly outside in anything over 90F gets both my shirt and the back panel soaked through with sweat after a few minutes.
