    Brain Cells

I just made my first purchase thanks to all the great input from you guys on the forum and from Darcy. (Customer service with this company is outrageous!)

I got an Ego with a horizontal brain cell for my "classic" 15.4" Macbook Pro. I am hopeful I chose wisely and didn't need to go to the SuperEgo.

In any event, should I ever decide to get a backpack as well, will the horizontal cell be fine, or will I need to spring for a vertical?

Congratulations on your new Ego! Let us know how it works out for you.

You'll be able to fit a Size 4X Horizontal Brain Cell in our Brain Bag backpack, but not the Smart Alec backpack. For the Smart Alec, you'd need a Size 4X Vertical.
Have a question? @Darcy (to make sure I see it)

Current carry: testing new potential materials in the form of Original Large Shop Bags.

I got my new Ego yesterday...my first Tom Bihn purchase.

What a great bag! The construction is absolutely impressive, and it is a very good looking bag. I also got the brain cell, which is terrific.

The web site does not do justice to how great the cayenne color looks in person.

Great bag! Now I guess I need to spring for accessories!

So, I love the Ego. It's a great bag.

I added a brain cell to it, and then thinking, heck, why stop there, added a horizontal Freudian Slip and a Snake Charmer.

Turns out the bag is a TAD too small for all that. It all fits in the main compartment, but barely, and I have concerns I'll ultimately bend up the Slip doing this.

Of course, there's still some room in the compartment under the flap.

Overall, I would caution against adding all this stuff to the Ego if you plan on carrying much more than your laptop and the stuff that will fit in the Slip.

That said, the Slip is an ingenious addition, and will help keep smaller items organized.

Glad to hear that you love your Ego! You are welcome to return the Snake Charmer if it's not a good fit - thanks for sharing that so that we know!

I actually debated sending back the Slip, but the added functionality is just too good. I'll hold on to all the stuff, and when I ultimately, and inevitably, get that Empire Builder for "work" purposes, it'll all function better there!

I vaguely wish I had gone with the Super Ego, but think it really would have been too big for the day-to-day casual use of the bag.
