Best Way to Patch Halcyon Shop Bag?

I've been using a Tom Bihn halcyon shop bag for the past 4 months of quarantine to do grocery runs (in NYC, which means its a short walk to and from the store). Unfortunately, every once in a while, it bumps into the sidewalk--not frequently, but enough for it to have developed a small tear. Have any of you patched Halcyon before? Preferably for someone with no sewing skill. I'm basically looking for a more glamorous version of Duck Tape. Any recommendations?

You might want to call the TB folks to see what they reco... it's ripstop though, so at least it shouldn't propagate

Tenacious Tape, maybe? The stuff you use to patch down jackets.

For what it is worth, several years back, I had a similar issue with a small, maybe a half inch tear. I discussed with the folks at Tom Bihn, and given the halcyon material and construction, they recommended do nothing. Fast forward several years, and it has continued in heavy use for grocery store items. The tear has not spread, and it is still going strong. Definitely discuss with Tom Bihn, but in my experience at least, it has not impacted the durability so far, even without any kind of patch.

I can wholeheartedly recommend Tenacious Tape.

Pick your TT color carefully. The Black or Navy (or rare Yellow, Red colors) are very tough and somewhere in-between Cordura and Ballistic 210. The Off-White or Sage is slightly stretchy and in-between Halcyon and Aether.

Avoid the Clear color at all costs. It is non-woven and the least suited for punishment.

The patches are nice too, but I prefer to cut my own, with rounded corners and at least 1/2" of margin all around the cut.

Adhere to the outside rather than the polyurethane-coated inside, for the best longevity, though you will be tempted to patch from the inside.

Thank you all. This forum is awesome. Never heard of Tenacious Tape before this, but just picked up some of the off white color. If I hadn't been warned about the clear, I'd probably have gone with that and regretted it. Same with the black or red, which would otherwise have been my instinct. I wouldn't have looked carefully at the ripstop vs nylon vs clear differences otherwise.

I think this should work perfectly, and I'll have a bunch leftover for other projects as necessary.

The nice part is Tenacious Tape will peel off without residue any time you're ready to remove or change it.
