Enter for a chance to review the Shadow Guide 33!

We’re giving away three Shadow Guide 33s here on the Forums to folks who are up for providing early reviews that’ll help people decide if the Shadow Guide 33 is right for them (or not!)

We’ve long known that the bag overviews/reviews (text, photo, video) provided by our volunteer Forum moderators are super useful to you guys when you’re trying to figure out if a bag is right for you or not. And we learned that giving away a few bags to the Forum community to get even more points of view was also super useful when we gave away early review samples of the Luminary 15 and Synik 22/30, so we're doing it again!

    The details:

Important! This is a chance to review the Shadow Guide 33 only — if you think it’s likely to be too big of a pack for your needs, please wait to enter to review the Shadow Guide 23 when that size is ready in mid-late November. These three Shadow Guides 33 should go to folks who are interested in a pack of this size/volume.

Enter if you’ll be able to test the Shadow Guide 33 and post your true-to-you review on the Shadow Guide 33 page and here in the Forums. The Shadow Guide 33 will be available for order on 10/27, our goal is to ship the winners their bags on 10/20: that’s a pretty short timeline for a review! Given that, one option would be to post a “first impressions” review before 10/27 and write a more thorough review after you’ve gotten a chance to use the pack more.

We welcome you to author a review that includes what works for you about the design as well was what doesn’t work for you.

And we encourage you to ask us (Nik, Darcy, Tom) questions you have about the design, such as why we included certain features but not others.

If you have made it to this point in this wall of text, we deem you to be true of heart and steely of character. Here is the secret instruction: to enter to receive a Shadow Guide 33 for review, please respond to this thread with the answer to this question -- "If you knew you were going to be stranded on a desert island with your Shadow Guide 33, what three things would you be sure to pack?" -- OR this question "If you knew you were going to be stranded on a dessert island with your Shadow Guide 33, what three things would you be sure to pack" -- by Monday October 19th at 12:00pm PT. Countron will be randomly choosing who receives the bags; we'll PM the winners and let them know they've won by the morning of Tuesday October 20th (that's also when we hope to ship the bags to the winners, if we get shipping addresses in time!)

Since Countron will randomly picking numbers to select the winners, only respond once within this thread. If you have questions or something else to share, feel free to start a new thread or PM me

Have a question? @Darcy (to make sure I see it)

Current carry: testing new potential materials in the form of Original Large Shop Bags.

I would bring an inflatable raft, a small hatchet or axe, and a bag of fish hooks.

I would pack a personal locator beacon to get myself found, a hammock to lie back in, and a book to read while I waited for rescue (if this is a *desert* island, I may get thirsty, and if it’s a *dessert* island, this answer still stands but I’ll be in the hammock quenching my thirst with a frosty chocolate malt).

                - A really good hatchet

                - As much rope as I can stuff into the bag

A box of Kirkland (Costco generic) lactaid in the top compartment, and in the main body of the bag, a smock-style apron and a large bar of soap.
Fresh cannoli are messy and absolutely the first item on my ideal dessert menu.
(Second are the macarons-with-gelato-filling from my favorite chain gelato place in France.)

I would bring three things: books, books, and more books. How many books fit into a 33L bag? I'll be happy to test

For a dessert island I would bring:
My travel cutlery set, collapsible bowl and my Voited blanket that transforms into a pillow for sleeping off all that sugar
