I think this would be interesting of it was the right size to fit in an A30 or A45 end pocket

      Great Idea.

I use a Mountainsmith Tour Lumbar pack for light hiking and adventure style travel when I need better weight management than my Co-Pilot and less gear capacity than a 25 liter pack.

The one thing I think would make this design a functional winner would be a mesh or elastic water bottle sleeve on the side and then two load straps from the pack body to the waist belt. This is extremely useful for securing irregular loads on my Mountainsmith.

Have any of these been sent out to people to review? I know it might be a bit early but I'm really keen to see more pics of this! I'm hoping that it's a more of a true sling that sits on your back rather than a shoulder bag kinda thing. The DLBC for example is a great shoulder bag but won't sit like a sling should.

It's a good news for me that the new bag will be bigger than SK.
As it will be pre-order on Mar, is there any new information?
I also want it will be a sling bag.

            Welcome to the Forums!

If you haven't seen the preliminary product page, here it is:

Reissue of a vintage TOM BIHN design from the 1980's. It's a hip pack/sling bag/shoulder bag. And it's big. Made in Seattle, Washington, U.S.A., with globally-sourced materials and fabric from Korea/Japan/U.S.A.

We haven't seen any other new information yet that I know of... I expect that Darcy will share more information about this bag and the March pre-order (including WHEN in March) as they finalize things.

Waiting for the promised additional details on the next newsletter “in a week or two.”

I like this bag already, even with the scant details. Maybe Darcy will thow us some more details? Like how many o-rings, how many pockets inside the main compartment.

no pressure! But a woman can hope!
I thought I was registered for the newsletter but haven't received it. I can't find it on the company's website either. Where can I find the newsletter and subscribe to it if required?

The August giveaway is: Mystery Surprise Box! No, we won't tell you what bags, pouches, or other items are in it... you'll have to wait to find out! We can tell you it's going to be good.  On the last day of each month, we give away a rare bag to one lucky person who is signed up for our email newsletter and who signs

This took me to a page on which I entered my email address and checked a box for the newsletter. But it doesn't display the newsletter.

It is confusing because it also says you must sign up again every month to be eligible for a freebie. I assume that monthly requirement does not apply to the Newsletter? If so, that should be made explicit.

The newsletter doesn't display - you would receive it when they send the next one. The last one I believe was February 26th about the bag restocks.

The additional sign up each month ONLY applies to the chance at a free bag...once you're signed up for the newsletter, you're signed up until you unsubscribe.

Since there were some back-end changes to how all this worked, Darcy had posted in the Forums when the newsletter was going out... so we can ask her to try to let us know again so that you can see if your signup worked.
You can also log into your account on the TB website and when you go to your account page, on the left side under 'my account' it should say 'You are subscribed to our newsletter' ... that's where it shows in my browser view, your browser may render differently.

I think I solved my problem. I spotted a never before noticed feature on the main TB website, bottom right hand corner, for newsletter signups. Enter email address, click, get confirmation email, click within it, done. I'll know if it worked when I receive a newsletter. Don't know if I'll get the Feb. or March edition first.

Original LGD photo on product page looks awesome. Hoping it debuts with fun color options.

These color combinations will boldly go where no color combinations have gone.... since the 1980's

                          Sneak peeks coming next week!
Have a question? @Darcy (to make sure I see it)

Current carry: testing new potential materials in the form of Original Large Shop Bags.

Is the broken French on purpose? :/

Grande = feminine, but 'le' = masculine.
So it should be either Le Grand Derriere (the big behind) or La Grande, Derriere (the tall woman, behind there). I guess maybe it's meant to be the former!
