What about a wine/scotch bottle bag?

OK... I have been thinking about this one for a bit. Not to go all high-falootin' on everyone, but what about a bag for carrying your wine bottles? I see them all over the place, but I could definately see that Tom could do something far cooler. Far cooler, indeed.

(I'm actually a scotch drinker myself, and that's what I want it for... but the bottle sizes tend to be similar, and "scotch bottle bag" just sounds a little too much like you need to be checked into a rehab center.)

My requirements would be simple:

- Something tall enough (and snug enough) to fit one or two bottles comfortablly

- Shoulder strap

- Well padded to protect the beauties

An external accessory pouch is always nice, but not required!

What do you all think?

Not sure why one would want to lug around a scotch bottle... I find the typical whiskey flask plenty for my own consumption...

On further consideration...

Lots of good byobs and private parties with the economy going south vs paying 3x markup in restaurants, so this is a great idea. I like the idea of a small accessory pouch as well as insulation for whites. What would really be great is expandability. Sometimes you need one bottle, sometimes a white and a red-- the other night I brought three to a gathering. Lots of people I know also bring necessities for simple mixed drinks. Or scotch for those of us so inclined (MagicTiki-- what are you drinking these days??-- thats for a different forum...) Some kind of cool strap/folding pocket mechanism like the brain bag seems to have. I wouldn't make it clear -- that would eliminate insulation and, lets face it, sometimes you just don't want everyone you're with to know what you have...A shoulder strap or longish handle would also be great, even if only for hanging over the back of a chair when empty-- I have lost at least two of the neoprene carriers from leaving them on the floor behind my chair...

Keb, you and I seem to be of the same "spirit!" (Couldn't resist!)

We often go visiting with friends whether it's a barbecue, a holiday, a poker game, a dinner party... and bringing along a bottle of cheer (regardless of your preference for wine, scotch, etc.) is something we have always done.

Keb, these are great design ideas. The obligatory "paper bag" from the store offers no protection, insulation is sometimes required, and your every day padded/insulated bags are NEVER designed to properly handle these sorts of things. Sure, you can buy the bottle sleeves and the fancy bags from the wineries... but Tom Bihn would something better. Something... magical.
