Laptop computers come in a huge variety of sizes: some are long and skinny, some are short and fat. Generally, our case sizes run from small (Size 5) to large (Size 1); however some sizes are made for thick and/or wide laptops and some for thin and/or narrow laptops.
Our sizing system developed as we added sizes and ended up being, as you say, "backwards" with no good reason for it.

Some silly(?) questions
I was just wondering why you use a backward numbering of your laptop cases/sleeves? I.e. "normally" you assume that number 1 is the smallest size not the largest size, as with clothing?
