I've been examining the CPF for awhile now, and I was wondering if an already versatile bag could be improved upon. I know the main compartment is roughly 1.5 inches in depth and probably adequate for most people, but I was thinking that if you added an extra inch or so of depth, you could make it more suitable for a one-bag solution for short trips. Also I thought that the suede-lined gadget pockets of the Id would fit nicely in the spaces flanking the two horizontal pockets behind the main flap, as otherwise these areas are wasted. Maybe even convert one of the side pockets into a cinchable water bottle/umbrella pocket. Just a thought.
Ack! Actually, the CPF main compartment is about 2.7 inches deep. My bad!
