Darcy - shoutout to all the Crew for getting the restocks out... looks like (don't want to hex this, but....) you all might be catching up... I don't think anything sold out instantly from this morning and everything that was restocking this morning still looks available, yay!
hope the whole Crew is still staying safe & well and getting in/getting ready for some of that well deserved time off!

I was mighty tempted by Ursa/Dawn, but CBs aren't really my thing. However, I saw that the MB will be restocked in Ursa/Dawn soon and I'm a super happy camper now! (I picked up plenty of other things in the last pre-order, never fear.)

For UK customers...when you order with UPS, when do you normally pay customs? I thought I'd get an email asking me to pay before it got to the UK, but I just noticed it reached Stansted, GB. Any chance I'll get this item tomorrow!? (It's 920pm on Thursday evening - normally I think it would be possible but given I haven't paid any customs...)

I have an Ursa/Dawn SCB coming for myself, then an Ursa/Ultraviolet Truckasana and Mars Red/Dawn MCB for my mom. I see a few 5/11 restock items that will be on this list soooon!

I also ordered an Ursa/Dawn LCB (surprise surprise), plus a second one in Aubergine. And an Ursa/Dawn MCB. I was hesitating on the Aubergine LCB, but I'm pretty sure I will like the LCB as much as my other Café bags, so having two to switch colors will be nice. This means three new Café bags and I'm only selling one. My collection keeps growing.

Besides a whole mess of Shop Bags, I finally settled on the MCB in Olive/Cloud and the LCB in Ursa/Dawn.
I'm really not sure if the LCB will ever work for me, but it seems like a good time to check it out in person... and if the Maker's Bags come back in stock on the right timing, I want to compare that to the LCB, since I've never seen either of them IRL.

Usually what that means is, the WF gets clothes, shoes, laptop, the empty Pilot, and the WF goes in the overhead; while the S25 gets a jacket, snacks, my back-of-seat PCSB and various odds & ends ... or if it's a suit week, then it gets stuffed full of a suit or two.
Black halcyon is great for work travel because it's lightweight, flexible, and conservative - that means I can bring both the WF & S25 into just about any business meeting no matter the dress code and they don't get a 2nd look - TBH, I've probably sold 50 TS/WFs over the years and decent number of A45s as people eventually catch on I'm going to the airport after spending a week with me and can't believe those 2 bags hold all my stuff, are carry-on, and small. (I've had people ask me, "what is that? The new Tumi?"
Well, for reasons unrelated to Covid, I don't anticipate traveling much for work any longer, but am definitely looking forward to some fun travel!
And in looking at my 400 Black halcyon bags I've realized it's time to get some fun colors!
Also, I'm bummed 1050 is (mostly?) going away, so wanted a few before they're gone .... sooooo ...
TBAS - 2nd Course
I just ordered a TS in Verde! Oh man, after seeing the new WF I can't wait for this Tristar!! so my TBAS is now cookinI can't wait to see it ... My plan is to two-bag travel with the TS in backpack mode and the WF on my shoulder. I'll have to figure out organization, but I like the flat packing and the ability to easily put either under a seat or in the overhead. This has worked in Europe with the A45 on SwissAir and Iberian so the Tristar should be even better ... I do like the flat packing style thus the 2nd reason I'm choosing it over the A45 with first reason being 1050 VERDE!
TBAS - Dessert
So what's next? I'll have to check out the Tristar and see how using it and the canyon WF together will be, also mixing in the Ursa S25GE ... then once the next re-stock happens (this month??) I'm hoping for an Ursa Brain Bag (+ some packing cubes & other stuff) and maybe an S30 ... though I may wait on that one as I know TB has some other releases coming ...
It's been super exciting to think about using these bags for mostly personal travel and I'm looking forward to hittin the road!
Once I get everything in and decided I'll update with pics and some first impressions & reviews compared to my last 4 years with black & blue halcyon - I may even make a few youtubes!
You may already have the packing cubes that you need for your 1050d Ballistic Nylon orders, especially if you already have Western Flyer Packing Cubes. But I was reminded of this post made on 02-22-2021 by MikeV regarding Packing Cube Backpacks for the Tri-Star/Western Flyer in the Discussion of New Colors, New Designs thread.
Ignore it if it’s not relevant to any needs you might have. I think some folks may have used that inside the Brain Bag.

My pre-order still hasn’t arrived... UPS says the parcel has been in Cologne for a whole week now, it’s scanned almost everyday but no further movement. I really want my items!

The Synapses/Syniks get all the press, and they should given their way of levitating your stuff into their pockets! But the WF, for any travel, but especially business travel, is mind blowing especially in 400 black halcyon since it's slightly stretchy. That's key because many times I stuff that sucker FULL and THEN shove a laptop in a cache in the back! Yet it holds its shape, is super easy to carry on the hip, and is super small.
Using the inside out roll method I can get 3 suits, t-shirts/undies, gym stuff & size 12 dress shoes into the WF! So great as a business travel bag.
And as long as I'm gushing about the WF, I gotta mention the GREATEST FEATURE of the WF/TS that doesn't get enough attention: SHELF MODE!
For personal travel, we do a LOT of walking, talking, and coffeeing ... this usually involves pastries, but shelf mode works for all kinds of stuff of course - turns out the WF is THE BEST BAG for us for city jaunts ... first here's the WF on a Seattle trip (with the straps loose for easy on/off):
So what's so great?
Well, let's say you have stuff you want both easy access to, but also want to keep upright and not smashed - normally this means always putting the delicate stuff on top and then if you want anything you gotta take everything out, then put everything back. And if you have a DSLR that's a super huge hassle (granted a mirrorless easily fits in the chin pocket of an S25/S30) ... so what's the bag solve?
WF/TS Shelf Mode!!
The divider + pocket width make it super easy to carry crushable stuff like pastries from Le Panier and coffee from Seattle Coffee Works on the "top shelf" and things like a DSLR & coat on the bottom shelf. Then, simply put the zippers next to the shelf and the DSLR becomes grab-n-snap and the pastries stay nice and safe on top. Plus you still have the entire rear pocket for other stuff (like a baguette you can't quite see), the front pockets for small devices like a spare phone battery, and the backpack pocket for a laptop. Plus on the top shelf you can also see a locking carabiner in case you want to secure something in its own bag.
The WF is such a Swiss army knife of a bag, there's almost never a trip I haven't taken it on, even if I pack it empty into the A45 for longer trips.
If these long posts don't qualify as TBAS, I don't know what doesLast edited by GrussGott; 04-16-2021, 03:33 PM.

TBAS - Appetizer
About a year ago I got an Ursa S25GE ... and then covid hit and I got involved in work stuff and I never even opened it! (I'm not a good multi-tasker) So things have settled down and about 2 weeks ago I cracked it open and WOW what a beautiful bag! I just missed the pre-order 3/31 deadline for an S30GE this year, but that's ok because I'm waiting for TB to announce a black multicam version
buuutt ... that might be a loooonnnggg wait
TBAS - 1st Course
ANYway, so I love the WF so much AND there was one left in 1050 Coyote so I had to go for it! It arrived this week andOMG what a BEAUTIFUL bag
Pics don't do this bag or material justice. It's a stunner and DANG is it beefy compared to my halcyon bags! Ok it's a winner soooo... next!

The BB will be excellent for city stays where we usually do grocery shopping daily and the BB will great for carrying lots of stuff and then cinching down when the space isn't needed - I currently use a black multicam Mission Workshop Rambler for that (expands from 20L-40L), but it's really lacking in organization.
