Confession: I made my wife wait an extra half an hour to head out of town a few days ago because my Aeronaut 30 was due to arrive any minute. Alas, sanity prevailed and we left before UPS showed up, so the past three days have seen my mind wander repeatedly to the poor lonely TB box that I knew was waiting for me on my stoop. I tore into it as soon as we arrived home this evening, but I have to admit, Bihnions, I was totally unprepared for the un-assembled zipper pulls. I was a Bihngin, and I guess I did not do enough research, but I'm afraid my excitement was not enough to alleviate the frustration of assembling my own zipper pulls on a $300 bag. There's no question the bag is everything I hoped it would be, but spending 15 minutes having to build part of it myself seems condescending to me, so as far as Tom Bihnery goes, I may be one and done. But what a one, eh?!?
Welcome!
We're glad you are here. This is the place to ask for bag advice, help other people out, post reviews, and share photos and videos.

I'm glad you like your bag - I love my A30.
I believe that the pulls don't arrive installed on the bags because people customize their bags a variety of ways: there's more than one way to use the cord to make the pull; some folks cut off the metal pull first; others use different colours of paracord; some make really cool paracord pulls in the shapes of dragonflies, turtles, elaborate knots (lots of photos on these Forums); and some prefer not to install the extra cord & plastic pulls over the existing metal ones at all....
For myself, I do a combination of the above, depending on the bag, the colour, and which zipper/pocket it is... I have yet to do the fancy knots though!“...Horace was the only cheese that would eat mice and, if you didn't nail him down, other cheeses as well"

Man, releasing new products on a Friday afternoon is such a good move on TB's part...I walked into my house after running to the bank to deposit my paycheck, and got an email about HLT 2's being back in stock. And since I have no impulse control and want it now...well, instead of doing the smart thing and waiting for my preorder to ship, I currently have a Solaris HLT 2 and a Black/UV zipper A5 Ghost Whale on the way.Guide's Edition Synapse 25, Pilot, HLT2

I take it all back! Used the Aeronaut 30 today and I feel just as giddy as the rest of you Bihnbros! I'm sorry for complaining; I'll assemble my own zipper pulls any time. Question: did the Internal Frame in my Aeronaut 30 truly make me walk more upright? Or was that just an illusion brought on by new-found Bihnogance? Another question: if I caught my wife attempting to recycle the box my Bihn came in, do I have to find a new wife?

The problem with pre-orders, it's just so easy to order additional stuff and tag on to the same shipment.
So found out about Tom Bihn in late jan, and as luck would have it, it was the pre-order time for GE.
After lotsa of reading, ordered a S30GE for self and S22GE for wife.
A lack of impulse control ended up with S25GE in a second order.
Got notified that the HLT2 was in stock last week and made order 3.
Oh wait, there's strap keepers in coyote and those nifty double carabiners. Order 4.
Opps, those include cord pulls don't have plastic ends and my pudgy fingers ain't good with knots. Order 5 for cord pulls with ends.
Wonder how many orders will i end up with before April comes.

Then I ordered some accessories for it.
Then I discovered Shop Bags.
Then my son stole my SE.
And so on...
