So which Side Effects did you get? I got a Logic Blue Pick-Up Truck and also one in Aubergine. And I missed out on the PCSB the first time I tried to order, so I got the Cobalt/Solaris combination

G42 and b1gsky, I know that I use the Side Effect more than you probably do. With the 200d Halcyon I can also use the SE to double up as a packing cube, in lieu of a Size 2 TSS. I also used to use this a lot with the Little Swift, which was a regular carry for me for years. (This is terrible, because as I type, I'm thinking that I should have added a few more Halcyon Side Effects.

(whispers) I think you should order a few more. Or at least order them now and then think about it so you don't have any regrets. I've had a few sad TB moments when I hemmed and hawed and didn't pull the trigger fast enough.

I do use Side Effects very often, sometimes as a PLO or bag in bag. I especially like to use them as a theme park bag, although I sometimes I do use an Everyday Cubelet. Side Effects are just so handy and versatile as a first aid bag, makeup/dopp bag, airplane seat bag, etc. I just love them.

I was so excited that I ordered as soon as Paragon was available at 16:01 (CET): Guide Edition's in Wilderness, I was drooling over this color combo since Synapse/Synik versions, but I already have the GES25 (obviously... it is on my avatar...)

added HLT1 & 2 and packing cube shoulder pack that I wanted since forever
and some (exciting) stuff...

but I am wondering myself if I should add another HTL1 or 2... hum...

I ordered the SE in Solaris and Tidal - I'll see how I like them when they arrive. I'm currently obsessed with Solaris, probably because of FOMO from missing Solar (& paying so much for a few things on the secondary market) and the whole pandemic thing depressing me. Solaris is literally a bolt of sunshine happiness to me.
My very first TB item was a SE that I bought when I visited the MotherShip (shoutout to the amazing Crew!)... as I've figured out what works for me, I prefer the Side Kick size if I'm going to carry that type of bag but I don't like the new offset attachment points on the SK and they weren't making them in 200 halcyon anyway.
I mentioned elsewhere that in the past year or so I've picked up the older version of the SE in Cordura with the attached waist belt and they have been wonderful as a traditional fanny pack when I go out on long walks with all the extra supplies needed during Covid times. I figure I have a zillion waist straps floating around from my packs that I never use, so I'll probably use these new ones that way.

Many other things were ordered: Cubelets, PCSB, PUTs, E/T Cubelet, oh my!

I ordered the same Side Effect colors that you did, but then decided to add Acuity. Now I am wondering whether I should get Ultraviolet and maybe the Northwest Sky. There are just some situations where that size works better than the 3D Organizer Cubes (which appear to no longer be made in fabric -- at least for now). I also checked the Ghost Whale Pouches, but they don't seem to have added a lot to these yet.

The Guide's Edition look is very different from the Design Lab Version of the Paragon. I do like the Coyote color (and I'm probably guilty of collecting too many of the Coyote accessories -- my Coyote/Iberian Pocket Pouch arrived just after the Covid-19 shutdown, and it was when I was still sending specific requests for color combinations that I had seen posted -- it came back with the note that this was probably the only remaining Coyote/Iberian pocket pouch in their warehouse). And, if you want to experiment with hacking, there are still 1.5" wide Coyote waist straps around left over from the Skookum Dog Citizen Canine accessories.

You should go for it!

I surprised myself and ordered this combo. Not what I usually go for, especially since I didn't care for coyote when I first saw it. It's grown on me, and something about the monotone appeals to me all of a sudden...

I totally hear you about Solaris. I too found TB after Solar was retired and have been asking for its return for years, so like you, I am trying to acquire what I can in that color. That’s why my first choice for a Paragon was black/Solaris. I wish it was hanging around a little longer, or maybe bringing back Solar, which I like a little better than Solaris, but that’s just splitting hairs.

I'm a big fan of my Side Effect in the black grid Nordic. Do you know if this Nordic was 400d Halycon? I'm still thinking about the 200d Halycon but not sure how much different they'll feel to the bag I already own.

Yes, your dark grid Nordic (the newer one) and the original white grid Nordic were both 400d.

If you have any Dyneema/Halcyon other than those Nordics, Steel, the Original (white grid black), or Black (dark grid black) then you have some 200d to check out. The 200 halcyon is different than 210 ballistic, but that is closer (to me) than the 200 halcyon is to the 400 halcyon.

Kept it simple and ordered two items: a Design Lab Edition Paragon in Black/Coyote, and a matching Coyote Halcyon Cubelet.

EDIT: I did not keep it simple, and came back to the website later to order an Ursa Guide’s Edition Paragon.

Just want to say a big thank you TB for the relaxing pre-order and good range of products, compared to chaos and often dissatisfaction of previous launches. Thanks for listening. Seems much fairer and manageable.

I thought I was being good by only getting a Pick-Up Truck (Aubergine - to use around the house), a Monster Truck (Deep Blue - the same bag I ordered the last time they were available and deemed too big only to recently change my mind, but at least someone else got to use it in the meantime!), and a PCSB (Cobalt - very curious about the Cerylon fabric). But then I read about what others were getting, remembered that I like the look of Tidal, and added Side Effects in Tidal and Solaris even though I rarely use the Side Effects I have (hoping the 200 Halcyon will make them more suitable for in-bag organization). I'm feeling a little sticker shock over the two SEs costing the same as the PUT+MT - I understand how labor-intensive the details of the SE are and am glad that TB pays fairly for their labor, but eek! Now to avoid the temptation of adding another PUT to my order...

+100 on this. I couldn’t agree more. Today’s preorder was the exact opposite experience than I had during the last debut. In fact, I couldn’t sleep last night thinking about this preorder since I was stressed out about ordering my beloved 200d halcyon Side Effects. I think I would have been all right not getting anything else on my list, but I’ve been waiting years for those SEs. So to the entire TB team, thank you so much for making today such a positive ordering experience.
