Accessary or optional addition to bags that would hold an umbrella. Alllow cinching up like the water bottles to fit different sizes.

For my new EGO bag, I used two velcro cable ties attached to the eyelets.
The umbrella expands out to golf size and is 18 inches long. Fits fine underneath the front flap. The straps prevent the umbrella from falling out.

The cable ties are rather clumsy extracting the umbrella. I'll be on the lookout for some canvas like material I can add velcro to. It will be rolled around the umbrella to cinch it up. I'll look for some clips to attach it to the eylets.

One solution

I'm finding that the best solution is to use two of the 8 inch key straps. They can be wrapped around the umbrella which will prevent the umbrella from falling out.
