One Compartment Tri-Star

Let me first say...I love my Tri-Star.

However, I find it really difficult to pack anything that is more than 3" deep.

What we need is a one compartment bag the size of the Tri-Star. In fact, it could be a Tri-Star with the dividers removed. It would open on one end and the cover would lie flat, hidden backpack straps, and external pockets.

Wait, you say, what about the Aeronaut. Well, that could work but I would want the end pockets removed and that space added to main compartment. (and made slightly smaller.)

I know, I know, there are tons of these bags available...but none the quality of Tom Bihn.

It could be called a "Uni-Star."

Yes. I love the way my Tri-Star fits everywhere - under seats, in station lockers, just everywhere it has to go. But with three main compartments, I can never remember where I've put anything.

I have scissors... I am tempted...

Frank, I'm still waiting for Tom to make the smaller Aeronaut that will meet the smaller length requirements of international carriers. The Aeronaut is great, but I'm largely using the Tri-Star now because I keep one bag semi-packed for travel, and don't want to have to switch in case of having to meet different requirements. And I do usually need the flexibility of more depth, so I use the Tri-Star instead of the Western Flyer, which would work for me if I only ever had to carry clothes or "flat-packable" items.

Personally, I was hoping the smaller Aeronaut would come out while Indigo ballistic nylon was still around but we can't have everything! Maybe it will make it for the next great new ballistic nylon color offering.

How about a smaller cousin called... Eastern Flyer?!?!? Ooooooo!
