    Hi Mark,

Both the Size 4 Brain Cell and the Size 4 Monolith will clip securely inside the Brain Bag.

Will you sometimes want to carry just your laptop and leave the Brain Bag at home? The Brain Cell is easier to carry by itself by the handles or as a shoulder bag.

Once you secure the Monolith inside the Brain Bag, you can't store anything on top of the Monolith but there is more room on the sides of the bag and you can compress the bag more.

The Brain Cell does leave room for storage on top of it, but since it's so thin it would be difficult to perch anything on top of it. You could clip the Brain Cell on the top set of clips so it's suspended at the top of the Brain Bag and there would be room beneath it.

    which insert for Brain Bag

    I'm considering a BrainBag and an insert for a Powerbook G4 15Al.

Am wondering whether there are any not so easy to see details that might make the appropriate Monolith preferable to the appropriate Brain Cell or vice versa.

I'm aware of the differences in the products and the fact that the BrainCell clips in whilst the Monolith doesn't, but what about fit in the bag ? How much of the space in the relevant compartment that is not taken up by each is usable ? I'm thinking along the lines of whether there is usable space "beneath" the brain cell ? Whether a Monolith (it would be a size 4) will effectively prohibit storing anything "above" the laptop ? etc.

How about "fit on the back" ? I would imagine that a Monolith is better and allows for more compression on the side straps, but since I'm way over here in Germany, I can't test my theory.

    wtia,

    mark.
