    Handle on ID bag

I'm looking for a nice new bag for my nice new 15" Powerbook. All I tend to carry with my current PB is the power adaptor (+ bulky UK plug) and a mouse, so I don't need a huge case.

One of the options for a new bag looks like the ID + brain cell. It looks pretty nice!

However none of the descriptions or pictures I've seen of it on the net seem to cover the carrying handle very well.

Since I often carry my existing powerbook case by its handle for short distances, I'm interested in knowing if the ID's handle is a simple strap of webbing, or padded in some way.

    Does anyone know?

    Thanks!

AFAIK it's not padded per see. But is rather a nylon webbing cylinder with some sort of stuff inside it. A short tube of PVC tubing would be my guess. This means the handle has a rigidity and a size which give it excellent comfort, but it's not really soft.

    Hope this helps

If you are not part of the solution you are part of the precipitate!

      That's pretty helpful, thanks.

I think given the amount of time I want to carry the bag by the handle - and I suspect I use the shoulder strap on my current bag more than I think - the handle on the ID will be fine.

      Cheers,

      Chris

So now I've got the bag, I can confirm that the handle is quite a tough piece of plastic tubing inside a webbing "sleeve".

It is fine for carrying the bag for short distances. It would be nice to have a slightly squishier handle but not exactly essential.

        Cheers,

        Chris
