    Wanted - Cafe Bag in kelly/steel - M or L size

If anyone here has a Cafe Bag in kelly/steel (M or L size) that's in good condition, and you've been wavering about whether to keep or sell it... I say sell it! Please let us know here when you do (via Ebay, Craigslist, etc.). Thanks.

I have a Small Kelly/Steel that hasn't been getting enough use. The waist strap just isn't in the right position for me and it's not removable.

I don't know if this would be of any use. If it is I can list it on eBay for you.

Are posts such as these allowed on the forums? Not trying to be a jerk, but seriously curious as there are some bags I am searching for as well.

      Thanks.

The forum rules regarding such, states in part: "Selling your TOM BIHN bag directly through these forums is not allowed. Sites such as eBay and craigslist are set up specifically to handle such transactions and we are not. You are welcome to post a link to your eBay or craigslist (or other such similar site) auction or sale of your TOM BIHN bag in these forums."

That being the case, I think it makes sense that it would be acceptable for people to post wanted bag requests, particularly bags that are no longer in production. It certainly puts a fine point on the premise of purchasing bag types and models you want now, before they are no longer produced.

I would suggest that a new forum category be opened for just such requests/notifications. How 'bout it, Darcy?
Bags: Latest: Pop Tote and Shop Bag (large) ; also have a Co-Pilot, Super Ego (w/cork seatbelt); Aeronaut; Medium Cafe Bag; Large Cafe Bag; Brain Cell; Shop Bag small, (Steel); Packing Cube Shoulder Bag. Accessories: Oh yeah, bunches.
Sadly Lost to Hazmat: An Imago in Steel/Cork & MCB in Linen/Olive.

It would seem that the OP and falconea have "found each other" and can now take any transaction to PM. Not sure how this would be a violation of anything?

I wonder if there is a word/term in any language for that heartache you feel when you really really want to get a bag... and it's no longer anywhere to be found. :*(

Transactions through private messages aren't ok. The sale still has to go through eBay, craigslist, or a similar site.
Have a question? @Darcy (to make sure I see it)

Thanks for quoting the rules, ex machina! Everyone note: "Selling your TOM BIHN bag directly through these forums is not allowed." "Through these forums" includes private message.

As for a new forum category: let's see how many of these requests there are over time. If there's enough, we can create a forum for them.

I do not understand the logic of this, especially on items that TB no longer produces. But, it is not my place to understand really.

                    hi bltkmt,

i don't think whether tom bihn still sells the product you're selling is of relevance. in fact, we are able to list on these forums a link to tom bihn products (past or current) that are listed on craigslist, ebay, or other such site.

however, if you allow transactions to be conducted through these forums, there is a liability aspect that gets introduced if there is a problem with the transaction. ebay, craigslist and other such sites are set up to handle the buying and selling of items.

at least, that is my take on it.

Possibly, but I am fairly certain the site can disclaim all liability in any case so the parties are aware. There are plenty of other forums that I frequent that allow sales within the site.

But again, it is really not my place to understand. I love the products and enjoy the discussions here. I just wish there was a more direct way to conduct commerce of bags as there are many here that have excess inventory that might find a loving home.

                        maverick's right.

We also realize we can't be everything to everyone. We don't have the time or resources to deal with a marketplace forum or the complications that inevitably arise from those dealings (we've talked with other people experienced with this.) We want to continue to focus on our passion: making really cool bags.

                          Only want size M now

Just updating my original post/request - I am no longer seeking an L size for the kelly/steel Cafe Bag - just an M. If you have one and would like to sell it in the future on another website, please give us a heads up here! :much appreciated:

                              dzd,

If you PMed farlconea that explains why I didn't receive it.

I'll get a couple of photos and get it up on eBay in a few days, or you can email me at my hotmail address, provided you spell my ID correctly. :+>
