hi folks!
i would like to extend an invitation to you to come and attend the (first, i think) washington, dc tom bihn fest on saturday, september 25th, 2010 at 11am!
we will meet on the mall between the smithsonian national museum of natural history and the smithsonian castle.
you can get there via the blue and orange metro lines - for train schedules and directions from where you are coming, please see the wmata.com website.
you can also drive there. there is street parking on constitution avenue and surrounding streets, but finding parking can be challenging when the weather is good. there are also parking garages in the area.
we ask that you bring a tom bihn bag (or two, depending on how many people are coming). this will allow folks to see bags (and colors) in person that they are curious about.
if you don't have a tom bihn bag but are curious about them, that's okay - come out and see what people are carrying and how they are carrying them.
it would be wonderful if we could have a bit of coordination about who can bring what so that we don't end up with a half dozen synapse backpacks!
i will arrange some drinks and eats. to help me plan, please let me know that you're coming, the number of people in your party, any food allergies, and what bags you can bring.
this is the first time we're doing this, so we'll take it in baby steps. many of you have come up with some very cool ideas, and we will see how this goes and look forward to expanding how the events occur.
i know we have a number of people on the forums from the washington, dc metro area. but if you're going to be in town, or would like to come into town for this, we would absolutely love to have you!
please let me know if you have any questions, and thank you so much for planning to come out and share your bags! i am excited to meet all of you in person!
