    Cafe Bag is Excellent Except...

What a great bag on so many levels, including overall quality and details. But, I have to say the strap can really give me a fit.

I find that all too often the strap has turned itself inside out at the slider buckle. I wonder if the future bad should adjust more like a messenger bag in order to keep this from happening.

Anybody else share my Love and Hate? ;-)

Keep up the good work TB

    Fondly

    Charlie

PS Anybody come up with an easy "fix" for this?

My main Cafe Bag peeve is that the straps are often twisted when I put the bag on, and I have to make an effort to untwist them. It'd be nice to have small swivel hooks.

That's not the same problem you're describing though, right?

Maybe? I am saying that the strap itself seems to be able to turn inside out at the slider buckle that is attached to the bag, not the adjustment slider on the strap itself.

      Make sense?

I agree that the strap is always twisting. I also have trouble keeping the bag on my shoulder unless I wear it across my body. It is always slipping off, and I have broad shoulders. This is especially true if I am wearing a jacket that is made of a slippery material, like my North Face winter coat. Also, since I am on a roll here, if you shorten the strap to it's shortest length, the plastic nonslip thingy is no longer able to be resting on the shoulder.

Other than that, it's a great bag. I have the medium and large!

Charliedid - sounds like we are complaining about the same thing.

I prefer to wear my M Cafe Bag on one shoulder most of the time, more like a tote bag. To do so, I have to shorten the strap almost to its shortest length. I slid the slider buckle through the shoulder pad (takes a bit of patient wiggling). This enables me to still use the shoulder pad on my shoulder.

The bad thing about this is, if I want to switch back and forth between wearing it on one shoulder or wearing it cross-body style, it is not easy. Sliding that slider buckle through the shoulder pad is a bit of a pain.

Anyway, I prefer not to wear messenger bags cross-body style, unless they are very small or so big that I have no choice. As cool as messenger styles can be, those big black straps are often unflattering splashed across a woman's chest!

The Absolute Shoulder Strap will probably solve the problem of slippery straps - besides, it's so much more comfortable than the regular strap. I have an Absolute on my Empire Builder as well as my recently-purchased Large Cafe Bag. I thought it might be an overkill to have it on the cafe bag, but it feels so snugly and comfortably on my shoulder that it's worth every cent!

              Cheers everyone...

I think I may have to just go ahead and perform surgery on my bag and make it the way I want. Also, regarding the plastic grippy pad thing, it was cut off within minutes! Can't see the use for those on such a small bag, or any bag for that matter.

Nothing is ever perfect is it?
