Anyway, I’m going to contact Tom Bihn tomorrow and see what they have to say.

Mine is stitched the same way, which I've never noticed or maybe I did but just didn't think to question it. Mine seems to hang pretty neutral when it's not on my body, and I wear it a bit higher so it rests on my hip in a somewhat natural way.

I don't know. I don't love it now that you pointed it out, and it does seem a bit wrong.

I have 2 older A45s from 2 different design runs. My shoulder strap attachments are in the same place (in bound) BUT they are at an angle so they cup my body, if that makes any sense.

Anyway, I find the bag too big to carry with a shoulder strap. I only use the backpack straps, or for short distances, the handle.

          From Tom Bihn:

”Your bag is correct in regards to how it is designed to function. The Aeronaut bags got a redesign last year and where that clip attaches to the bag changed as part of that process. Most of the changes to the bag were construction related- we altered the way the side pockets and the back panel attach to the bag, and in that process, one of the seams was removed. The d-ring is now sewn into a different seam and it is closer to the front of the bag, rather than the back.

This is all to say that your bag is sewn correctly, based on how it was designed. There are definitely a lot of folks who use these newer Aeronauts the same way you're using them and this is the first I've heard the feedback. I think for most folks the bag sits flat enough to the body, and this hasn't come up. That said, I do see what you're saying and this is great feedback for me to bring back to our design team. We're not able to make immediate changes but this kind of feedback is so helpful as we discuss what is working and what could use some tweaks in our designs.”

          So…There you go.

You know the saying if it ain’t broke don’t fix it?
            Jose

These concerns will stop me from buying another A30 (or two)

            1. No full halcyon “lining” on the interior
            2. Redesign of bag resulting in the bag carrying /looking “wrong” on the body
            3. Incorrect product photos
            4. No update/warning on changes to position of attachment points
            5. Removing metal zipper tabs
            6. Frenzied limited drop, rather than a civilised pre order
            7. No 1050d external fabric option

Same - I'm really disappointed that the product photos and videos don't get updated - suspect it's not a new thing, but it's not ideal when buying from overseas!

                Wow.

                Disappointing.

I don't carry my bags like backpacks- only with the shoulder strap - and this would drive me crazy. Fully-loaded, I could see it awkwardly bouncing around as I'm walking, to the point where I'd get frustrated and just carry it by hand (defeating the purpose).
