Facebook group for Tom Bihn Bags & Discussion

Hi,
Just wonder if anyone here is in the Tom Bihn Bags & Discussion facebook group. I tried to join the group but have not got any response. Is the group still active? Could anyone help?

Hi! It is very active -- in fact, with just a few volunteer admins, they may have overlooked the request -- I would suggest sending a new one.
Just be aware that the group is independent of the company, and as well, the Tom Bihn employees and owners no longer seem to frequent it, so any comment or question for them is better off here in the forums.

I have tried to join this group with no success. I was not given a reason why. Luckily there are two popular TB Facebook groups and the other is more accepting.

Same here. I tried several times but no success.

I just joined both groups recently with no issues. One of them (can't remember which) had a set of questions that need to be filled in first, even though the "questions" weren't really in question form. Many FB groups do not respond to requests to join if their survey is not filled out, so that may be what caused your requests to vanish.

The survey form doesn't always show up easily on mobile, either.

Yes, that’s this group. I recall the questions weren’t questions, and that was a little confusing so I just wrote about myself in there and my affection for bags. And wrote “Thank you” each time. Still, denied twice and blocked the second time. It doesn’t feel good.

OK, that's interesting about the questions not appearing if you try to join on a mobile device. I have had this issue with other groups. I wonder if that is what's going on. I was previously a moderator for that TB BST group, and it was very unusual that we would not accept someone; I am pretty sure that is still the case. I can let them know this is going on, but it would be helpful to know, for those who were not accepted, when they tried and whether they were on a laptop or phone. Feel free to PM me.

The “questions” do show up on a phone (and my iPad), but they aren’t questions. There are blank spots to fill in an answer but no questions are posed. It’s confusing and hard to know what they are looking for but each time I put some information in the blanks so they would know I’m a real human. I feel that I filled out the request form properly. I belonged to the group previously too, joining the same way, and had some good trades/sales and chats, but now they will not allow me back. I hope it’s a technical problem, but I just don’t have a lot of hope that it is.

It’s not missing, they blocked you. That’s why you can’t see it at all. They did the same to me.

To elaborate: After they did not accept me, I found that I could not see the group in a search. So I left the Facebook app and went to a web browser, searched for the groups name, found it on Facebook, but could not click on it. I could see it because I was logged out, but once I logged back into Facebook, I could not. …And that’s exactly what happens when you are blocked.
