The photo to the right is dark and possibly colour shifted towards yellow, so it doesn't look like a good representation to me of Coyote or Ursa.

The last Smart Alec pre-order included Coyote/NWSky and Ursa/Sangria I believe.

I now remember Ursa/Sngria as an option, but that photo looks as though it might come from a Reddit discussion ? To me the colors look like Coyote. At any casa it is not a good representation of Ursa. I have (as you know) the Guides Edition Synik22 in Ursa with Coyote trim.Ursa handles Coyote accents well, but the overall effect is different fro just plain Ursa as in the Shadow Guide. There are blog pictures of the Guide’s Edition Synapse 25 and Synik 30 that get that across. And at least the Ursa color rendition there is reliable

Ah, you only need to ask our earthy colour fan Chicagoan for ursa bag pics! Coincidently, Meglet also added a splash of aubergine in this thread page: https://forums.tombihn.com/forum/tom...168#post349309 More on the page after too.

        (sorry attached link is borked)

Yup, he’s a fan of both Coyote and Ursa. And the Seafoam interiors are on his wishlist for an Ursa combo (highlighted in excerpted quote for wishlist items:

Give the DLBC the same treatment the SK got to create the SH.

          Cerylon OPs.

          And you know what?

Seafoam Zipper Pulls. Those would look good on so many bag colors (including Ursa and Coyote).

Hey! Looks like someone lit up the bat-signal.

Saw they've run out of Seafoam and I was bummed it never got used to make some Ursa SKs or SHs.

I've got plenty of Ursa on hand but I don't have any Aubergine to show contrast between the two fabrics.

This is a recent picture of my Ursa/Cobalt Cambiata taken outside during the day and in the shade, if it helps any. It's a deep, rich brown and I think it does help to use colored zippered pulls (opposed to stock black) to provide some contrast and make the colors mutually "pop."

I own a LOT of Tom Bihn bags, but here are the ones I'm using right now:

            EDC: SK
            Day Hiking: Cambiata
            Car Travel: T45, SZTSB

            Plane Travel: N/A

Here's a blog post I wrote about my 3 favorite bags:

LOL - too much time has passed. I had decided on the Aubergine/NWS....but this weekend they released some colors, not the Aubergine...but then it came off the in-production list. So, then I went back and forth about it and was like, maybe I'll get deep blue with seafoam (even though I have the T30 in Navy and wanted something different)...maybe I'll go back to the ursa, because I think it is so nice but I just don't know that brown is for me...then I looked at wilderness and am intrigued by that one now. I'm at a loss, lol! Thank you for the pictures!

And just to mess with you, discontinued Olive (which isn't as yellow as it looks here) & Alphaviolet are in there ...

what's missing is Coyote, which I only apparently have in 1050 & Halcyon (geez, thanks for reminding me I have a hole in my colour/fabric range lol...)

Those weekend adds were most likely returns (very low qty), not a true restock and sometimes when they sell out, they don't automatically go back to the In Production list (depending on how they were set up), so the list may get tweaked again before they go live

You can always email TB about particular combos and timing and definitely get fabric swatches

I was just showing my coworker and she had seen a burnt orange pouch I had and the aubergine...and I loved the burnt orange but not sure I wanted it in a whole pack. Today after showing her this picture - even though the orange in the pic is brighter, she was like - oh, you loved that orange one... Well - if this is the biggest decision I have in my life right now, I think I'm doing ok...now I am thinking wilderness or burnt orange, lol.

I personally think that anticipation is half the fun!

And you can add pops of colour through Ghost Whale/OP/Mystery Pouches, especially if you're unsure of a full bag in a colour

I warn you though, it can get addicting... 😁

I have been all over the color spectrum! I really thought I had it narrowed down but looking at other options, oh boy! It really is half the fun. I don't need the bag anytime soon (although I'd like it sooner than later) so I can wait. My husband is the one that wants the marine xpac which I think looks beautiful from the pictures so he will get his and I may have to be a hold out!

vermonter16 Almost every color looks even better in person than it does on the product pages. I find that the combo of lining with outer bag color plays a big part in my decisions. I like Wilderness with Taiga. At the time you posted the Synik 22 combo they had up for Wilderness was Dusk Cerylon (which they didn’t show together). The nicest accessory bag combo I’ve seen with Ursa is the Acuity lining(no longer available, and lighter than tidal), followed by ultraviolet (someone on Ravelry posted a picture of the Ursa Trucksana with ultraviolet Halcyon lining). In the past, we could handle requests to show color combos with pouches, but there are very few general pouches. But if you’d like to see my reply to a n old request by brendabethman, who liked both aubergine and burnt orange, take a look at this post.

The original request way predated the existence of Ursa and Wilderness. Even if I wanted to do this with Wilderness and Ursa, they just didn’t make those options with the cutbacks in fabric scraps and general pouches,

Other factors depend on your wardrobe colors. Aubergine and Ursa (and even Burnt Orange) seem to work as better neutrals than Wilderness (I have other greens, including Hunter from 2006, Forest, and Verde).

                              Good luck with your choices.

Thanks for all that information and the link to the photos. Maybe I'll go Taiga! I guess when it comes down to it, I love them all...and with all the extra time of waiting, I keep changing my mind lol!
