    Thanks for all the enthusiasm

    Hi All,

My first post as I've been lurking to research my first TB order and wanted to thank everybody for all the lively discussion and photos. It's made deciding which bags and accessories to order much easier and saved me the headache of returning bags that don't quite fit my needs due to sizing or layout. A great example of this was that I was all set to get a Brain Bag until the night before I placed my order; when browsing through the forum I saw a post of a picture someone had taken of their boyfriend wearing a fairly full Brain Bag along with his physical description (height and weight). That was so helpful to me even though I had nothing to do with the discussion and I don't believe the topic was even regarding choosing which bag. Accordingly, I really wanted to express my gratitude for everyone being so enthusiastic about the company's products as to have extended discussion regarding their practical merits.

In the event you are interested my first TB order was (still waiting for arrival):
Aeronaut, Smart Alec, Field Journal, 4x packing cubes, Absolute Strap, Brain Cell, Vertical Freudian Slip, Snake Charmer, Mini Clear Pouch. I know what you are thinking...yup, Christmas in July.

Woot! What a haul! Can you post box opening photos? I would love to see so much new TB loot arrive, and it doesn't matter that it is coming to your house instead of mine. :-)

Definitely sounds like Christmas in July! I feel similarly, especially before I had first opportunity to actually try the products first hand, seeing the discussion, pictures, and packing lists helped me immensely with choosing which ones and what colors I needed to order.
I really, really like TB Bags!

You will be delighted! The Absolute Strap is the best, ever! The Field Journal Notebook is an absolute delight to deal with, it is dressy enough for interviews and rugged enough for field work or high school/college life. The Vertical Freudian Slip is going to be just the ticket to organize paperwork in you Smart Alec.
Once you get a Clear Pouch, you will find out how real useful they are and you will be ordering more!

          Congrats on the order!

            Hi kb19,
How exciting for you. I love my Absolute Strap and Field Journal. I'm a lefty and its the first time I've ever had something that truly worked for me. I also found it amazing that it took me a bit to get used to it. I was so used to "adapting" myself to a right handed world I had to learn to live in lefty heaven. My absolute strap turns a fifteen pound bag into a five pound bag and I really appreciate it after a long day airport hoping.

Please do take pictures of your box opening so we can all share your excitement.

            Take care,
            Moose

Great order. I ordered a Brain Bag, Aeronaut and Co-Pilot all at the same time and it's changed how I travel!

                Box Opening!

The cardboard boxes just arrived. I cracked them open and it looks like I'm all set in terms of luggage for spending August in Europe.

Photo details: full manual, no flash, office fluorescent lighting, 800 iso, f3.5, shutter 1/20.

                    HI kb19,
I'm not sure which is worse my bag envy or travel envy. August in Europe, what a treat. What color interior did you pick for your Aeronaut?

I went with solar interior for both bags.

Yes, Europe in August will be fun indeed. Wish I could take you guys with me. I'll be sure to take pics of the bags out in the wild over there.

kb19, where in Europe will you be going? I'll be in the UK (Oxford, mostly) for the first two weeks of August.

Somehow I feel guilty for already owning all that

Took me a few years to collect all the pieces. I envy your ability to make the big purchase choice. You should enjoy them though.

I'll be in Berlin for all of August and then Paris for the first four days of September. My first vacation of more than 1.5 weeks from work in 10 years. Just going to hangout and see what it would be like to really live in another city (subletting an apartment I found via the interwebs).

I was lurking on this forum as well as few other travel forums/blogs for quite a while before finally pulling the trigger. When I did call in to place the order, it just seemed to make sense to get it all at once even though it was a bit of an investment. I did call back after that to add to the order a clear organizer pouch to carry my work i.d. badge, but somehow that seemed to have been lost in translation - no big deal though as that just saved me a bit of money.
