    Key Strap

Have you considered doing a key strap with an o-ring on one end? That way I could hang two or three mini/small pouches off the side o-rings of my Smart Alec. I carry a few of the mini and small pouches for (first aid, sewing kit, ear plugs, spare keys, etc) and the split zip pocket will not hold them all. So some of them have to go in the main bag. I would prefer they not hang at the top of the bag but more towards the middle.

Just a thought. I jury-rigged one up by putting a keyring on one end of a short key strap and attaching 3 mini pouches to it.

    Thanks

I like this idea. I've also suggested they make organizer pouches with just the o-ring instead of the full clip. I know they say I can just snap off the larger part of the clip, but an o-ring from the start would be cleaner and less wasteful.

Oh, it seems like people have been asking for this since the dawn of time! Search the forums and you'll come up with several posts about this. I did the same as you and just put a key ring on the end of one of my straps. I have a couple of different pouches attached to the key ring. Maybe one day the Tom Bihn Gods will answer our prayers.

ok, I did look around but missed or miss-read those. It's fine, I have the workaround. And I love the two sizes of key straps. I have not gotten into the colors yet...YET!

Yep, I sent TB an email asking for something similar, kind of a DIY convert-a-pouch snap-clip set. Over the years I have accumulated a whole bunch of perfectly serviceable pouches and ditty bags on which I would love to convert to snap-on pouches. For now, I attach a loop of paracord or similar, and clip to a small caribiner in the O-rings.

Sorry, I forgot to add that you can get some cool travel pouches and similar at www.muji.com. Sorry TB.

I do this as well. I use a small keyring in between the OP and the key strap. The other end of the key strap is attached to my synapse. I also use a small keyring in between my key strap and my Maui Jim sunglasses case.

Key Straps in various length and colors attached to Key rings and carabineer clips are the way to carry everything, except the kitchen sink, inside your Organizer Pouches in your TB bags.

Everything is secure, very handy for people who have a tendency to miss the chair, seat or whatnot and end up with an upside down bag.

Everything is color coded and easy to get to.

Same idea in reverse. Some of my non TB bags have a keyring that clips into a mate sewn into the bag. As I do not want my keys permananently affixed to the ring, I use a TB keystrap on the ring and attach my stuff to the key strap. Works like a charm and makes my non TB bags "TB-lite"
