Brain Bag + (Monolith or Brain Cell) = best protection?

It looks like the Brain Bag should be perfect for carrying my Pismo (Powerbook G3) but I'm wondering which of the interior bag options offer the most protection.

Since the Brain Cell attaches to the inside of the Brain Bag, it seems that might add some extra suspension/protection compared to using the Monolith. Is that correct? If not, then are there any marked differences between the protection the two provide?

    Hi Ernest,

I'd recommend the Size 3 Brain Cell over the Monolith because the Brain Cell does have the added feature of snapping inside the Brain Bag, which is nice when you're trying to remove only your laptop and not the entire case. There isn't really a protection difference between the two.

Have a question? @Darcy (to make sure I see it)

Current carry: testing new potential materials in the form of Original Large Shop Bags.

Thanks for the reply, and the additional information about why the Brain Cell may have an advantage over the Monolith.

A new question though: does using the Monolith mean the Brain Bag can be snugged any tighter with the side straps?

It seems that since the Monolith is thinner, due to its vertical orientation, that it might allow the Brain Bag to be made a bit smaller when it's not packed with much more than the Monolith inside the main bag area. Is that accurate?

That's true - you can snug it tighter. The Size 2 Monolith, though in a different orientation, is a larger case than the Size 3 Brain Cell. When you use the Brain Cell, you have room above it for a Snake Charmer, or other stuff. You won't have room above the Monolith, but you will have a little bit of extra room on the sides.
