    2013 TB Wish List

A bit too early perhaps, but St. Nicklaus Tom may just put them on the action plan for 2013 during this holiday season .

    My wishes:

    Synapse in 400/420 dyneema/nylon Nordic Blue/Iberian

Tristar in 400/420 dyneema nylon in Steel/Iberian. I can live with Steel/UV combination.

Western Flyer bacpack straps in Aubergine/Wasabi.

PCSB - upgraded version with inside pockets - one one side, a bank of pockets sized for Phone, pens, sunglasses. On the opposite side, a bank of pockets for passport, small notebooks. Please keep the outside slanting pocket. It is great for train/bus tickets, maps.

Side effect witnout the waist strap. Made in ballistic nylon would be awesome. My cafe bags are creating fuzz ina lot of my very light hiking/travel pants and shirts made of nylon (the sweat wicking ones). So I have to watch the pants & shirts I wear when using them. Still, I will buy the side effect, made in any material, if TB issues a version without the waist strap.

About the Synapse, I would love an All-Dyneema/Nylon Synapse. Same size, same configuration, replace the back panel with Dyneema/Nylon, replace the straps with Dyneema/Nylon. I am going for the light weight and foldability of the bag.

I have been admiring the Tristar, but did not want a bag over 3lbs. So the announcement of it made in the 400/420 dyneema/nylon weighing tad under 3 lbs is exciting. But I am pampered with opening my TB bags and being greeted by the happy colors of the inside lining. The steel lining is elegant, but I will trade happy with elegant any day

    Thanks!

    It's never too early!

My wish list just has one item on it so far, but I'm working on it!

    An Imago in Linen/Linen/Wasabi.

There was an Imago made in Olive/Linen/Wasabi. See this post. It was another one of those instances where there was no picture of the color combination at the product page, and by the time someone posted a picture to the forum, the combination was no longer available for sale.

They've decided to make the Imagos in ballistic nylon. Read the comments in this post and another 5 posts down, from Darcy. This makes sense structurally, because the ballistic nylon holds its shape better against local sagging if you have small, heavy items such as cameras in a relatively unloaded bag with this horizontal orientation. But there's certainly still a wider range of color combinations with Cordura.

        For my wishlist:

I'd like to see if on the travel bags - Aeronaut, TS, WF, and even the Co-Pilot - that a lockable zipper pull be used instead of the regular pulls. By a lockable zipper pull, I mean the sort of zipper pulls found on most soft carry-on/checked luggage that accommodates the keyed and combination locks.

It would be nice to be able to securely lock my TB bags on those trips when I either leave the bag in my room, or when its riding in the plane or train compartments.

Threading a lock thru the end of the pulls still leaves a bit of a gap.

I have an Imago in Cardinal/Hemp/Steel and another arriving (tomorrow - please UPS??) in black/black/steel. I have decided to give the Cardinal bag to my niece, because although my travel bags are Cardinal (and I love the depth of the colour), somehow the colour just wasn't working for me in a messenger. I guess I like an EDC bag to be a bit more understated.

I think in Cordura linen the Imago would take on a slightly different, modern classic look, reminiscent of an old unstructured travel satchel. The less structural form of Cordura would actually enhance this effect. But I can certainly see the logic of using the Ballistic.

            Sorry, got a bit OT!

I think it's time to resurrect this thread. What's on everyone's wish list for 2013?

                  For me:

                  1) Packing cube should bag and packing cube backpack in 400d nordic dyneema.

                  2) Side effect without the waist strap. I also like the idea of making it out of ballistic, although it would be much more rigid then and probably less expandable.

I just saw in the 2012 thread Darcy says a waist strapless Side Effect in Black and Aubergine ballistic and Steel and Nordic dyneema is coming in early 2013!! One wish down, one to go!

More colour combinations for the 'new' Ristretto? What about the classic Steel/Wassabi on the 13" and 11" sizes? I'm thinking possibly of the 11" for my iPad as my current cordura one is often full to the gunnels, whilst my 13" seems like over-kill!

A "document cube" or traveling in-box. Kind of a hybrid between a Brain Cell and and packing cube that can be suspended or attached, horizontally or vertically depending on the bag, in a Brainbag, Smart Alec, Empire Builder or other traveling bag with Annex Clips. It would allow ready access to documents without having to remove it from the bag. Something to keep my important business documents and reading together during trips and long flights, stuff I don't want to trust to any checked luggage if I am not one-bagging it. It can be used as a mini-brief when not in the TB carry.

Plastic document boxes scratch the inside of bags. Pouches need to be removed entirely. Freudian Slips only hold a limited number of file folders.

                              1. A Field Journal Notebook with a cache-like slot for an iPad--or even a 11" MacBook Air or similar small computer/tablet
                              2. A Western Flyer with a split (two-piece) handle and [I]both[I] backpack straps and a rolling luggage handle pocket
                              3. a total, out-of-the-blue Tom Binh-esque surprise that I just have to have......
