I'm a long time user & lover of AlphaSmart technology.
I have an AlphaSmart 3000. It's a portable USB keyboard with 32k of independent memory, a fine tool for writers to focus on writing, not formatting. (It's a fabulous sturdy device, since its 40 char LCD 4-line screen has a glass cover.)
I also have a DANA, which is the love child of an AlphaSmart and a Palm OS device. Its touch screen is a little more vulnerable.
Neither of these devices have a folding cover; they're wedge-shaped. Like a calculator, their screens are slanted up slightly for better viewing angle. The Dana is the larger of the two: It's never 2inches thick, but the highest point is 2 inches above the table it rests on. It's 12 inches wide and 9.5 inches deep.
Is this a candidate for a size 5 Mitre? Can I tighten up the internal suspension system to take up the slack in the "deep" dimension?
