This is a fantastic video. It does such a great job showing all of the bag's features and how one can make use of the accessories. Makes me want one to compliment my Aeronaut! Nicely done! I'd love to see similar videos for others.

Awesome video; I really liked how low-stimulus it was (this is a compliment—the gentle lighting and music allowed me to focus on the packing capabilities of the TS).

I'm also impressed by how well Merrells squish down. There was no discernible bulging at the front of the bag.

Well done! ...really shows proportions and usage, and I agree with Badger - it's all about the bag.
(I also like how it's the big brother to my WF, and packed in a very similar way to my "business w/shoes" scheme (even the earbuds in the clear OP).)

Does the Tri-Star fit under the seat on the airplane? Is it small enough to pass as your "personal item" rather than your carry on?

The TS fits under most seats, I'd say. I managed to get a fairly stuffed one in the little space under a window seat on a 737. It was a bit of a humbug wrestling the sucker out, though.

The clear mini OP is not on a strap, it's clipped right on the o-ring. I just noticed because that's where I keep my earbuds, too.
I find it works very well (for me, at least) due to the placement of the o-ring and the length of the clip. This allows for the OP to swing easily outside of the pocket for access to the contents (of either the OP or the pocket). It is also short enough to make the OP float vertically inside the pocket and not clump up at the bottom of the bag. It's perfect, and super simple.

This is really a beautiful video and I second Badger about the softness of the tune and the background, it brings a sense of relaxation that is greatly needed during travel.

Frankly the Tristar pretty much did that on my only trip, to date, with it. So much fun to pack and so easy to unpack.
Note that I don't pack as fast as Stephan. The speed of putting objects in their respective Pouches/Stuff Sacks is really amazing.

There is no need to buy an extra Key Strap for the Passport Pouch as it comes with a neck/waist cord which is adjustable,

Not that I want to stop anyone for buying Key Straps, as I have a few myself.



When Stephan removed the Absolute Strap, what did he do with it?

Answer: give it to the filming crew.


It is an important question, for me, because I literally wrestled with the Absolute Strap on my very first trip, so I packed it, but that Tristar doesn't seem to have room for even the Absolute Strap.


The music is wonderful, a variation on "Our Materials" tune.

Thank you Darcy and Badger! Also, FWIW my new Smart Alec just arrived on Tuesday - just in time for a week of back-and-forth travel around town in some crazy rain (for VA). The SA is perfect! Now to determine if the Tri-Star is the right addition for my short business trips... this video and the details from the posts will be invaluable.
