    Change profile name?

    Hi all,

    Not sure where to post this, but I'd love to change my profile name to my personal one. I don't spend much time on the forum, but I do interact with the Tom Bihn Twitter account under my own name. I'd like to be 'me' here too. Is there a way to do this, or do I need to delete this forum account and start a new one?

    Thanks!

    Pam

    I'm bringing back an old thread because I'm curious too. I use a different username here than on Ravelry, and since there's so much overlap between the two places I'd like to use the same name for both. Is there any way to change the username/profile name and keep my posts, etc?

    Of course I could just create a new account with the other name, but I'd rather keep this account.

    I have a bunch of great bags. Favorite color combos include Aubergine/Island, Navy/Solar, Forest/UV, Original Halcyon/Wasabi, Cloud/Viridian... and now also Seapine/UV!

    I've fulfilled my dream of palindromic-colored nested bags! Navy/Ultraviolet Pilot with Aubergine/Island Side Effect inside: blue purple purple blue. Forest/UV A45 with Aubergine/Wasabi Co-Pilot inside: green purple purple green.

      Hi @aedifica/@millefolia

      I know that @Darcy can change your forum name, because she did this for @KatrinkaWinkle. The old forum web pages used to have a restriction on the number of letters you could use in a valid user name. Hence, Ravelry members, including some of the moderators of the Tom Bihn Knitting Bags forum, might have different user names in the two forums to meet the earlier login name length restriction on the number of characters. I think this is why @gochicken and @mausermama use different name s in the TB forums (both have Ravelry names that exceed 10 characters).

      In @KatrinkaWinkle's case, she didn't have as many TB forum posts under her shorter user name at the time it became possible to change her TB login name to match. And, just for your information, there is a TB Forum Crossover thread over on Ravelry, that lists some of the corresponding login names in both forums for people who sent this information in for the thread.

      HTH. (And I recognize your posts as aedifica because you've posted more under that name)

        @moriond,

        Thank you! I didn't know about the TB Forum Crossover thread on Ravelry. So first I'll ask Darcy if she will change my forum name, and if my situation is different enough that that wouldn't work or wouldn't be a good idea, I'll post in the crossover thread on Ravelry.

        And yeah--I started posting in both places about the same time, but I've posted way more on Ravelry! When I signed up here I used "millefolia" because that's my standard username for forums and bulletin boards, not realizing that there was so much crossover in membership between the two places.

          Darcy passed the request along to MatthewR, who kindly changed my profile name. Now I'm aedifica here too!
