I only rediscovered Tom Bihn after Solar had been retired…I would love a Co-Pilot in Steel/Solar!

I wonder if we should figure out how many of us would buy the Pilot in Aubergine/Wasabi if it were offered, and communicate that to Tom Bihn? Just an idea. It doesn't seem like those colors are in short supply, so maybe they just don't see the demand.

I desperately, desperately want some more color combos for the Pilot. Aubergine/Wasabi would be my first choice by far. Olive/Wasabi or something similar would also be great.
I've been holding off on a purchase for this reason, and it is KILLING me here.

I really want a Cocoa comeback to the synapse 25. Especially Cocoa/Wasabi which is such a great color combo!
Please bring it back!
Thanks

It's only the current combinations (reflecting the items that remain from the last large production batch) that are only Ballistic Nylon Combinations.
The point of this ramble being-- yes, more SEs in different fabrics, please! They can be used for a lot of different things due to the variety of fabrics they're available in and their 'just right' size. Also, the O-ring spam inside the SE allows it to be used to organise a lot of stuff.
(As a side note, I'd love to see an Aubergine/Iberian one. Love my pocket pouch in that combo...
ETA: And black parapack and Aubergine/Steel!! And Kiwi/Steel or Kiwi/UV.... <3)Last edited by adalangdon; 09-13-2014, 11:27 PM.

To see more of her excellent pictures of Steel Side Effect option, look at her posts (#58 and #59) in the New side effect color pairngs thread. I should point out that the current batch of Ballisic Nylon Steel looks a bit 'bluer'.

I'd really like a way to get notifications of new color availability.
If I could sign up for "Notify me any time something's available in Aubergine/Ultraviolet", for example, it would save me like 5 minutes a day which I currently spend checking for it.

Others have probably mentioned something like this, but I would love to see TB create a large travel wallet, something that could be a cross between a travel wallet like this one and the SE. I love my SE, but could see cherishing it even more with some added credit card slots, dividers, and places for all the necessary travel documents already built in. Pouches like the small DOP work, too, but I just thought I'd throw this out there anyway, to see what everyone else thinks. (And if it could be RFID-blocking, too, like the current Passport Holder, that would be incredible, too!)

I certainly don't need another Bihn buying spree, but have been thinking how nice it would be to have the SCB back in Kelly. This time with a Steel interior (Dyneema??). Or a Wasabi Dyneema lining a would be cool!!

I was musing this morning as I packed my bag for work: Do we need a mid-size single-compartment backpack?
Today Mr. Janine is rocking the Smart Alec. I think it's a good choice for him because of the waist and chest straps (he's a lot more aggressive on his bike than I am) and it will hold a wide variety of items in different sizes and shapes. I would normally be carrying my DLBP of Steely Goodness, but I'm having trouble getting my lunch box strapped properly to my bike. (It doesn't fit in the DLBP with all my other stuff.) So I opted for the S25, which I love, and it worked great.
What if another size of Daylight was offered that was in all regards the same as the Daylight except for the width of the side panels? Just enough for approximately 20L capacity, so roughly the same size as a S19. The extra depth would help a regular-size lunch box fit better inside. At some point the unpadded straps of the Daylight would be uncomfortable but I don't know where that balance point would be. Alternately, a mini Smart Alec would achieve the same effect and bring with it good padding and a large, open main compartment. I think I'd rather have the light weight and simple construction of a supersized Daylight, though.Last edited by Janine; 09-05-2014, 07:30 AM.

I use my 200d Dyneema accessories all the time and I've never had a problem with abrasion, either. My 200d SE is used daily, thrown into other bags and carried separately, and it looks just as great today as it did over a year ago when I bought it. This SE has been in continual use since May of last year!
I think that when 400d Dyneema was released, Darcy's casual comment about it being less durable than Ballistic freaked a lot of people out, and now there is this weird notion floating around that Dyneema is fragile or requires special care. It certainly isn't fragile. I checked my 400d Aeronaut when I flew to Denver two months ago and it held up beautifully. Many people have been stuffing and overloading their Shop Bags for years.
Is Dyneema as tough as Ballistic? Of course not. It wasn't designed to stop a bullet. But as far as durable, flexible, high-performance fabrics go, it's excellent and we can expect that Dyneema bags of either weight will stand up to the rigors of EDC.
