Buzz Now Fits MacBook (And the 15.4" MacBook Pro)

Initially, the Buzz did not fit the new 13" macbook, but now the product page lists the buzz will fit it. Does this mean the backorder buzzes to be shipped in March are slightly bigger?

Yes. Tom has redesigned the Buzz to be slightly bigger so that it will fit the 13" MacBook.

Details on Update to Buzz

Darcy, could you tell us the specifics of the updated Buzz? New capacity, any new features, etc.

I'd like to compare the Buzz I have now to the new one. I've always thought the capacity of the bag (without a computer) was a bit tight for me. I'd be willing to buy the larger one if I thought it had enough upgrades to make it worthwhile.

We'll be able to share more details on the new Buzz in the next few weeks, but what I know now is:

*The new Buzz will fit the 13" MacBook, 15.4" MacBook Pro, and the 15" Powerbook.

*Tom managed to make it slightly bigger to fit the above laptops without making it look radically different than the current Buzz.

*It will have a lighter interior lining color - something much requested on these forums as an improvement to the Buzz.

*It will have a new-and-improved shoulder strap.

*It will be available in these color combinations:
Black/Navy/Crimson
Black/Kelly/Steel
Black/Olive/Navy
Black/Plum/Steel
Black/Black/Steel
Solid Black

(Any feedback on these color combos? There's still time to change them.)

I like the black/gray/crimson I have now. Very classy. Any possibility of keeping that?

Color suggestions for the new buzz.

The colors I liked best for the earlier Buzz were black/plum/steel, black/sage/steel (OK, no more sage -- grin), and black/crimson/steel. However, with the new Imago I've really liked the cocoa option, and I think having this color available would be great: maybe black/black/cocoa? This would work particularly well if you had a wasabi interior.

Personally, I'd probably still opt for the plum with the new Buzz. The navy looks pretty nice, too. As nice as the olive appears (much better than I'd guessed), it would still be great to have another "earth tone" option like cocoa. (And maybe someone can suggest an alternative color strip for cocoa instead of black?)

What kind of cell phone/iPod pocket will be featured on the strap? And that reminds me of the suggestion to offer (separate) ultrasuede lined pouches for iPods and cell phones. Any progress on those items?

I think the new Buzz will be really popular.

Sorry for having shortened your post. The cork pouch has very soft ultrasuede or ultrasuedelike interior.

The back side of the cork fabric is very soft, but it's not Ultrasuede. The back side of the Cork Small Organizer Pouch is made out of 1000 denier Cordura, so one side of the interior of the pouch is the back side of the Cordura fabric. Still, I feel perfectly comfortable putting my iPod in the pouch.

We probably wouldn't do a Black/Navy/Crimson AND a Black/Steel/Crimson. What about a Black/Crimson/Steel?

If I had to choose, I'd stay with the black/steel/crimson and not do the black/navy/crimson (the black and the navy are too close in value). I like the back of the pack being crimson.

How about Black/Cocoa/Cork?

Would it be possible to incorporate the cork fabric into the design of the Buzz?

It would be great to see Wasabi also - maybe Black/Cocoa/Wasabi?

Bummer! I can't use the old buzz because I need to put a Macbook in it.
Just another case of the rightwingers showing utter disregard for the left :-)
