    Sunglasses pouch

Since I just posted about the mini pouch I received for a review, I figured I'd post something that I've needed for a while....

A sunglasses pouch would be very handy. Clip-on like the organizer pouches, with Ultrasuede on the inside. Not sure if it would even need a zipper.

That would be a wonderful idea! I have a pair of sunglasses that came with a hardshell case, which is great if I need to throw my sunglasses in a backpack with textbooks, but I've never needed to do that.

I remember trying to find a nice simple thin case for them that would fit in my purse without taking up half the space. I gave up for some reason...

That would be something that would probably be pretty easy for us to make..

So, a padded sack for the sunglasses or eyeglasses, essentially? No zipper or drawstring closure?
Have a question? @Darcy (to make sure I see it)

Drawstrings are iffy, unless there's a way to where it won't pull out or collect dust or gunk in it. A sturdy zipper sounds good.

What about one of your normal pouches just sized for glasses?

Well, it sounds like the last few posts are describing an ultraswede pillowcase, with a TB logo along the bottom?

It needs to have a zipper, drawstrings are impossible to deal with when in a hurry.

I always fear forgotting to knot the pouch.

I think a zipper is a pain for something like glasses that you want to pull out quickly - it doesn't need to be sealed shut, it just needs to somehow keep the glasses from falling out. An opening that is shaped to keep it from falling it, or a slightly elasticized opening so there's nothing to fiddle with seems preferable to me.

What about if it folds over and buttons or velcro's shut? Then you could open it quickly and it wouldn't be too hard to put them back in. What would be great about that is there could be a clip on the other end of the bag. So for example on my Imago it could clip in and hang under the flap (not in the pocket, but still behind the flap), and all I would have to do is reach under the flap, unbutton the bottom of the pouch and pull the glasses out.

The interior must not scratch the lenses. Sounds obvious, but it is amazing how few sunglasses cases are made with an interior that is good for the lenses. Perhaps a microfiber inside?

You know, thinking about it... that doesn't sound half bad!

                    No velcro, please!

sorry to disagree, I would prefer velcro over drawstrings. Not sure how I feel about a zipper. Just make sure its large enough for sunglasses that don't fold completely flat, like Oakley's.

The thing about zippers is they would have to make it so the zipper wouldn't rake across the glasses.

Doesn't TB have some sort of non annoying velcro?

What about just a single button with the fold over thing I mentioned? That seems like it would be fast to unbutton.

                          Waddabout...

How about one of those gizmos with a thin, flexible metal strip sewn into the top on both sides (like my grandmother's change bag thingie). You just push on the ends to bow it open and it flexes back shut when you quit pushing?

What about a magnetic closure? ScotteVest uses magnets on some of their pockets, and they work very well.

Velcro is noisy but i like it.

Strings take too much time and are not secure.

A magnet is out of the question because I would constantly worry about that case being close to any electronics.

The bendy wire is out of the question too because I don't want to wrestle with my eyeglass case.

I always favor a zipper and I am sure that a padded pouch with enough room to put the glasses in and out quickly would be ideal.
The lenses should fave the padded and soft side and a zipper with a slight curve would be good.
