Will Absolute Shoulder Strap fit older Super Ego?

I purchased my Super Ego back in March 2005, and always felt like the strap was the weak link in an otherwise superb bag. The strap is good, but I felt like the terra strap on the 2XL Brain Bag inside my Super Ego was a better choice. At the time, I seem to recall Darcy saying that there was no other suitable strap for the Super Ego than the one that came with the bag.

So, now I see that there are two new straps out there: the Q-AM and the Absolute. Do either of these fit a Super Ego manufactured in Spring 2005? I use the bag to hold several thin Levenger Circa notebooks and my Dell Inspiron 9200, and it can get quite heavy.
